Does anyone believe in the evil eye and it's power?

I know many people are skeptical and believe that evil eye is all BS. I would think the same too if it had not happened to me. When I was a young girl, 6 yrs. old, my mom hired a girl that was about 18 who was really kind to my sisters and me. I was her favorite though. She said this because I had beautiful black curly hair with rosey cheeks and was very out going, however I would never let her hold me. She would just stare at me often and would try to hold me or come in contact with me but I would never let her. As a result she simply stared with adoration. Within about a week of my encounters with her I became very sick. My body would not hold anything I ate and I became very weak. I would break out in cold sweats at night and was slowly withering away. After about two days of the strange symptoms my mom took me to a pediatrician and she assured us that nothing was wrong with me and that at most it was a minor flu and prescribed medicine. I took the medicine exactly as prescribed by the doctor but there was no improvement, instead the symptoms were worsening. Desperate, my mom resorted to a radiologist to have them take x-rays. The results were back within days and again they didn't find anything. My mom was not aware of the evil eye or even suspicious that it was the case, until the teenager's mom approached my mom and explained to her the concept and power of the evil eye. She then agreed to cure me because she had dealt with similar cases before. My mom of course was skeptical and refused at first, but with all other possibilities exhausted and no choices left my mom agreed. She was there through out the entire process form the making of the liquid she applied on me to the time I was kept in bed for hours covered in layers of clothing and sheets in order to sweat off all the negative energy. As unrealistic or super-natural as it may sound it worked. The next day I was able to eat again with out barfing and slowly my body recupperated. Until this day the mom of the girl probably doesn't know it was her daughter who had accidentally cast evil eye upon me. She even told my mom that if my mom wanted the person that cast evil eye upon me to suffer and lose their eye sight, all she had to do was bake the egg shells of the eggs used to make the potion that cured me, in the oven. My mom of course said, no. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Can anyone draw a more logical or medical explanation to what I experienced as a young girl? Please no rude comments

Hmmm.. My take on it, judging from the clues you gave about the girl's mother is that it was a family that believed in some kind of occult practice, voodoo, something like that. Maybe the mom was teaching the daughter. Maybe she didn't mean to hurt you, but was channeling some kind of evil power anyway. The mom was a much higher level witch, for lack of a better word, and was able to take the curse away, having caused it herself in the first place.

That's what I think. I have seen demon possessed people do supernatural things like knowing secret information that they have no possible way of knowing. I used to be a Christian street minister and I had to cast devils out of people sometimes. These things are very real, unfortunately. Fortunately, they are no match for the power of Jesus Christ. If you call on him whenever you need him, he will be there. He will never let you down. He's the best friend I ever had. That's why I serve him. Peace, Yours in Christ, Nick

Do you believe in the goofy eye, or the sex eye, or the sad eye, or the happy eye?? you give certain looks by how you feel or what you are trying to project. If you are pissed off at someone, I suppose you can look at them with a pissed off look or 'evil eye' but nothing will harm you unless you pick up your hands and strangle the person! No I dont believe there is such a thing as an evil eye. I believe that the eyes are the windows to the soul, yes. The mind is a very powerful thing as thoughts are energy and can manifest if you will it to. But not with out physical action from the manifester. In other words, nothing will hurt you if someone looks at you with an evil eye, unless they try to physically pummel you.

Is that the Mexican thing where someone curses you with a cactus floating in a bowl of water (or cactus juice?) and your eye get all watery and itchy and you feel like tearing them out and it won't stop until your apologize to the person who cursed you.
