Math Problem-pretty easy........?
This is a pretty easy problem but I've just forgot:
ex:
8r(2t-s)
=16rt-8rs
Now I'm not sure if I can simplify it more or not...If i did simplify would the answer be: 8rts?

= 8r(2t - s)
= 16rt - 8rs
Answer: 16rt - 8rs is the simplified form. The reduced form is the problem itself, 8r(2t - s).

No the answer would not be 8rts, here's the work to solve the problem:
8r(2t-s)=16rt-8rs
according to the order of opperations, you always solve parentheses first. To solve them in this problem use the distributive property and multiply 8r by 2t and 8r by -s. Make sure not to leave out the sign on the s as this would change your answer. It will look like this:
16rt-8rs=16rt-8rs
Now if you look at both sides of the equation they are the same and really cannot be simplified anymore, but because they are equal the variables can equal any real numbers, which is your answer. hope this helped.

no its original state of 8r(2t -s) is its simplist form
by expanding the brackets it is more complex
you cannot get it to 8rts
because thats like saying that
eg. r =1 t = 3 s = 4
8(6 - 4) = 16
is the same as
8*1*3*4 = 96
which is not the same

No you would not get 8rts
If you simplify 16rt-8rs you get 8r(2t-s) because 8r is common to both terms

You can't simplify it any more because they are unlike terms. You can only simplify like terms.
