Explain why the first statement is false but the second is true.

1. All linear equations can be written in point-slope form.

2. All linear equations that describe functions can be written in point-slope form.

    the sencond one says "that describe functions" the first one doesn't. If you want to write an equation in point slope form, it has to describe functions.

    the definition for an equation is to describe or tell something. If it didnt we wouldnt know what it was talking about. Thats why the 2nd statement is true.
