no, jeans are probably not the best thing if it is semi formal. u would be really out of place, and would be the only one wearing jeans, maybe go for a nice skirt, some leggings and a nice top, or get a dress that you can wear with leggings. but all the other girls there will most likely be wearing dresses

A formal means a tuxedo, possibly a suit if one is forgiving, this being a high school setting. Semi formal means suits for older people. But for young men, it's generally khakis or chinos. Under no circumstances do you wear jeans of any color. A collared oxford (button-up shirt) and shoes that aren't sneakers complete the outfit. A tie and jacket are often optional, but I'd say include the blazer and tie, because you can always take them off if no one else wears them, but if they do, you are automatically prepared.

Only if they look like nice, black dress pants. But baggy jeans (or any jean at all) with any wash lighter than black is a no no.

Like some other people have already said, if you really want to wear pants, go for some dressy ones and pair it with a nice, formal top. Something sparkly, maybe jewel toned, is beautiful with dress pants :-)

nope ! not at all. semi- formal means no jeans . you could do the top and the heels with a nice dress pant though

    Yeah.

I have a chorus concert and she said to dress formal so I'm wearing a dress shirt, black jeans, and some white heels.

    That's just fine to me.

I'm not a big fan of dresses either.

NO. my school is having a semi-formal winter ball 2 and no one even guys are allowed to wear jeans. girls pretty much hve to wear dresses and guys in suits. and anyways dresses are hotter. so go buy a cheap dress somewhere and have fun.

No. Semi-formal = dresses which are semi-formal. As in, dresses which are about knee-length.

hmm, i'm not really a bif fan of dresses either.

except for special ocassions like the grad and prom.

umm but i would suggest to wear a flowy dressy top with leggings.
