Audi A4 or A4 quattro, does it really matter?

I'm looking at buying a 2007 A4 but my father in law is telling me that i should look at the quattro. He says the transmission is more reliable. I'm looking at a clean 2007 A4 for 18k with 28k miles. So should i pass and look for the quattro?

if you live in an area that gets a lot of rain or where it snows in winter, you want the Quattro. It makes a major difference on wet pavement. Quattro is the world's best all wheel drive system on a production car. Nothing comes close to the handling of an Audi with Quattro in rain or snow.

Also, if you live in the mountains or where there's lots of canyons ... get the Quattro. It's a truly amazing system. Otherwise, go with the Audi CVT. Audi also makes the very best CVT transmission too.

I had an A4 1.8T CVT automatic and it had great gas mileage and the transmission was reliable. The Quattro has the more primitive automatic which has been around for years. The CVT is much smoother since it does not have gears. It's "Continuously Variable Transmission" and it's real slick, and you won't feel it shifting up and down.

the quattro is all wheel drive, which is nice, unless you wanna do burnouts defiantly go for the quattro tho
