Hey KC fan, going into yesterday's game the Indy Colts and the Baltimore Ravens had the respective wildcard spots over New England do to tie-breakers. Indy has the head to head win over the Patriots, and both teams have better records within their own division. That means that the Ravens also have the first tie-breaker over New England since those two aren't scheduled to play each other in the regular season.
The Ravens won their game, as did Indy. Since Pittsburgh beat New England yesterday, that meant that the Steelers retained their one game lead in first place over the Ravens in the AFC North, all though for the Ravens it meant that they now have a 1 game lead over the Patriots for the 2nd wildcard.
New England isn't out of the hunt yet, we still have 4 weeks of the regular season left. Basically by this point though the Patriots have a few things working against them. One is they lost the first tie-breaker to Indy since the Colts beat the Patriots earlier this season, another thing might be the remaining part of the Ravens schedule: vs. Washington, vs. Pittsburgh @ Dallas, vs. Jacksonville.
That can be a tough stretch for the Ravens, but consider that 3 of those games will be at home for the one of the league's top ranked defenses. Also, what happens if the Ravens take over the lead in the AFC North, Pittsburgh then falls into the wildcard scenario and they also have the head-to-head tie-breaker over Indy.
All in all it seems to me that at this point the Patriots are far from out of it, but they are a bit further behind in the wildcard chase then their win/loss record indicates. The better bet for them right now is to win their division (which of course any team wants first and foremost anyway).

The Steelers are the leaders in the AFC north right now how can they be a wildcard team the Pats still have a shot though i believe they are only one game behind the jets not sure but their are more then enough games for tyhem to clinch the division

I'm giving them 65% odds.
They need to win the rest of their schedule, and with opponents like Seattle, Oakland, Buffalo, and Arizona it should be doable... the biggest challenge being the Cardinals.
An 11-5 record should be enough to grab the Wild Card along with Indianapolis. That would leave Ravens on the outside looking in. They have the toughest remaining schedule of the Wild Card contenders.
If the Dolphins win-out, though, I believe they would have the tie-breaker over the Patriots. That would be something, for them to make the playoffs just a year after a one-win season.

They will probably make it to the playoffs because they will most likely win that division but it won't matter; there are only two real good teams in the AFC in my opinion - the Jets & the Steelers and the Steelers will be the one to go the distance.

you have nailed this one on the top. It drives me nuts that the recent England communities are doing so properly. I lived there for some years and hated each and every little thing approximately it. the folk have been only advise and untrustworthy. no longer only will the Celtics win the championship however the Redsox and Pats to no longer point out Boston college in soccer. I desire My California communities have been that stable.

To win the division- 0% cause the Fins will.
For a wildcard- 50% but say goodnight when the Dolphins blot them out of the picture in round 1.

When you use the basic Football Playoff Equation, it comes up to roughly 34.871692351% or 35% For those who like to round.

They have about a 19% chance.
But if they finish out:
4-0 . . . 81.9% chance of making playoffs
3-1 . . . 21.7%
2-2 . . . 1.3%
1-3 . . . ~0
0-4 . . . Out
so if they can just run the table :)
