Does anyone know where I could buy, rent, borrow a book...?

....available to read in the late 1970's - early 1980's called, if my memory recalls correctly - The Wolf In The Fold - which is about a Roman Centurion during the early 1st Century AD, accounting his experiences from the Anglesey Druid Massacre to the Roman capture of the Judean hill top fortress of Masada?

My memory is a bit bleak, as it's been 28 years + since I read it as a young person. So, any information, even if I have the title slightly wrong, (which may be hampering my finding of this wonderful book) is more than welcome!!

Update:

Hi Jenna. Thank you so muxh for your much needed response. But, going on the info I have and trying all my local libraries, they have no reference to this book. Hence, I may have the title a bit wrong...but I know it has The Wolf In/or Of as the start of the title. I don't know the author either, so that doesn't help my search either :(

Update 2:

I will try that Maryn, thank you.

Update 3:

Thank you rbx and Emma for your links. I will have a look at them now!!!

Update 4:

Thanks Rachel for the link and Larkin for the quotation from the book...you have wetted my already anticipating appetite :)

Here's a small description of Wolf of Masada by Fredman that I found:.

    .

When Romans capture Simon ben Eleazar from the Judean hills, make him a slave, and demand that he perform to the death in an arena, he escapes through the graces of the Emperor Caligula and eventually becomes friends with Vespasian before dying at Masada

Not sure what the book is but Booksfree has lots of paperbacks. The books Maryn mentioned are available for rent there.

OH! Here is the book you're talking about. It's part of a series about James Ogilvie by Duncan MacNeil. See the second link.

Might it be one of the Simon Scarrow books? I know of him, but have never read him. Maybe they're not old enough, though. The one I hit in a search for "book centurion wolf" is out of print.

you could try to go to barnesandnoble.com to search for this book or go to the store and see if they can find it on their computer, sometimes if they don't have it in the store they can still order it for you
