Long Division Question: 2 digit?
Im in Grade 6. Heres my question.
25|8000
I got the thing below it like this:
25|8000
7500
When I went to http://www.doubledivision.org/DoubleDivisionCalcul... to double-check, It said it was 5000, not 7500? I don't get it! Why 5000? help me.

if you are dividing 8000 by 25 then you should get 320
25 goes into 80 3 times so
300*25 = 7500
8000-7500 = 500......... 25 goes into 50 2 times so
20*25 = 500
500-500 = 0
320

Oh! That took me forever to figure out what you were saying...
B/c 25 goes into 80 three times. So put a three above the leftmost zero in 8000, then multiply 3 by 25...... Bah. It'll end up looking like this:
......320
25|8000
....75
....==
......50
......50
......==
........0
Disregard the periods, I needed them to hold places.

ummm the answer is like 320... because 25 goes into 8000 320 times... or 320*25=8000

5000 is the first number to subtract.
