Unusual problem with my 1991 Lexus ES - Strange vibrations and hesitation?

I noticed a slight hesitation between depressing the gas peddle and the car going forward and occasionally I get a slight vibration in the steering wheel when accelerating from a stop at around 20 - 25 mph (these never happened before last month). I think the automatic transmission is not shifting gears correctly or slipping??? Any advise? Lexus ran it on their computer diagnostic and found nothing wrong. They couldn't reproduce the problem(s).

How old are the plugs and wires? Maybe they are misfiring under load? If it has been a while since you have had a tune-up I would suggest you start there. Even if it doesn't fix your problem, you haven't wasted your money if you needed one anyway. You'll still get better gas mileage and performance and you will also have eliminated a possible cause of your problem.

there is surely something incorrect along with your engine. i might verify for a vaccuum leak first. Get a can of carb cleanser and spray it everywhere in the intake manifold section. If the idle transformations, you already know there is the two a vaccum leak or a foul gasket at that spot. it fairly is a tremendously elementary restoration. If this would not artwork, take it to a smog save and have them verify the exhaust to determine how nicely the engine is working. additionally, they are going to hook up a working laptop or pc to verify the errors codes. there are a number of stuff that is incorrect. At this element, with any luck it fairly is a foul sensor. it can be a foul timing belt (a worn belt could've slipped inflicting the valve/crank timing to be off) - if it is the issue, get this fixed suitable away, by means of fact which you could reason substantial harm to the engine. Worse case is that somebody did no longer safeguard the motor vehicle top and there is mechanical harm to the engine (valves, rings, pistons, etc). the three.0 Lexus (Toyota) engine is quite stable, so with any luck the quick block is powerful. good success!
