Macbook or Macbook Air?

Im in law school and getting tired of lugging around huge case books and a huge laptop. Im trying to decide between a new macbook or macbook air. I really love the size of the macbook air, but it seems like you get a LOT more computer for less $$$ on a regular macbook.

Should I just suck it up and get the regular macbook? Thanks!

I would just go with a Macbook... the Macbook air is great and looks awesome, but it's really designed to be THE portable computer, able to be taken anywhere, and since you'd just use yours on campus or whatever, it seems like it'd be a little unnecessary. Plus, the Macbook air doesn't have a CD drive, which is a major downfall, and is generally supposed to be a "backup" computer, not your main device.

In fact, I'd really suggest the Macbook Pro, like the Macbook but with way nicer features. It's still easily portable, but so easy to use...

Get the regular macbook. The macbook air doesn't have a cd/dvd drive at all so to install programs you need either another computer or you need to lug around a cd/dvd usb drive. The macbook air also is a lot more computer for less. With the macbook air all you're getting is size. Honestly, the regular macbook is pretty small too so go with it.

new macbook all the way! I bought one and they are just great. works fast, good wifi. Plus they are capable of running windows programs if you have to. I'd like to see a pc that could run on leopard... anyways it has the capabilities of the old macbook pros with a bit more bite. My brother has a macbook air and he says its more aesthetically pleasing than working. It can get the work done it comes with a price- no disk drive. so its up to you- more capabilities or thin and stylish. Good Luck!

macbook is pretty cool, but my friend has had bad experience with his. It could just be a one off bit of bad luck but he has had to get it repaired 3 times, the wifi, the HD the problems. The orginal macbook is better value. Also unlike the air it has a CD/DVD drive

Macbook. Macbook Air is slow and it does not have a cd drive, you must buy one using $100 and it takes a port. But i would still go PC if you are willing to budge a bit. Toshibas are very nice.

The Macbook Air is a piece of crap hardware-wise. You're paying top-dollar for bare-bottom specs. No optical drive means you're going to have to lug around an external CD/DVD drive if you want to do something as simple as watching a movie. Just get a regular Macbook. Or if you're even more sane, get a PC ;)
