Craig Levein reckons the SPL title is not an impossibility for United?
I for one applaud the positivity in his message, if you think you can win, you may still lose, but if you think you're gonna lose, you will never win.
Should more SPL managers now come out and state their title ambitions?

I think they should all be more positive. It's all very well living in the real world with recessions, crunchy credits, dour faced Aberdonians and the Old Firm, but I remember Utd winning the league and i'm not that old....(really, i'm the right side of 40) AND i REMEMBER BACK THEN people saying it couldn't be done. I remember a dominant Aberdeen, I remember Killie being promoted to the big League and people saying we would do well to be there for a couple of seasons, 14 years ago, I remember thinkin it would be a big deal to see Killie in a cup final, now i've been at three and we even won one!
So ignore the doubters, you don't get anywhere if you don't hold the dream. Otherwise, we may as well all be Celtic supporters! (cause although I remember lots of other stuff, I cannae remember Rangers winning the league for years!!!)

I wish that the Old Firm managers were more like Craig Levein instead of always praising each other and being diplomatic. He is a very passionate man, his rant against Mike McCurry is another example, and punching a team-mate way back in the day. Not saying that I endorse it, but I admire the fact that he is consistently honest.

Ok Rusty I'll do the honours of proving you wrong. Mark Wilson came through the youth system and signed for Celtic for £500k. Stephen Thompson & Davie Hannah also fit the bill. Stuart Duff on the other hand was a cast off from our youth system, discarded due to his limited ability as a footballer. As for your comments about Levein, it wouldn't matter if Jose Mourinho was United manage you'd still think he was bollocks.
Anyway falgee it's no impossible is it, it's better than managers saying their aim is a top 6 finish, nothing wrong with ambitition. I remember Ian McCall making similar sort of noises, difference is though, Levein's no a fanny. Levein kens the score.
We lack squad depth but the base is there, Zaluska, Dixon, Gomis, Swanson, Robertson and with the manager signing a new contract they're more likely to stay. Celtic & Rangers are nothing special these days either. Who knows what'll happen in say 2 years time.

Cap youth system i seem to remember you lot signing a few of our lads in the recent past.
It can and will be done before i'm in my grave i'm sure of it and i dont think it'll be long away mainly because i think the huns and tic have overreached themselves financially and the quality they are bringing in is not far off what a good youth structure can bring to a club like utd.
I few months ago in the Dundee tele dundee fans were writing in asking why utd fans werent on CL back as results werent going his way answer were no that stupid!
Craig has been the most stable manager weve had in years and the fans see what he's trying to do on the park as to your comment about him going to a championship strugglers he's already turned down watford because he think more can be done up here! Jim Mclean once says it takes a manager a minimum of five years to compleatly turn a team into his vision. Craig has just begun.
Mabe if the other could be big club on the east coast had any vision whatsoever we might have seen some sort of challenge your a one team city yet even with that your war cry is that of a two month old kitten.

If the day ever comes when Rangers and Celtic move on to another league.....United and Aberdeen could well become the new "Old Firm"....but not before. But don't tell Levein,,,,optimism is about all Scottish football has these days.

In SPL there are only ever 2 in the running...that's whats destroying scottish football. Its boring. If we joined with the English premier league most SPL teams would spend a few season in the lower divisions( perhaps Gers & Celtic in Premier) but eventually the revenue & international exposure would improve the level of our game....but to answer your question: it doesn't harm to be positive if unrealistic.

As long as the old firm have superior spending power the title will go their way, they can spend more on one player than the rest can in an entire season !!! clark kents a good manager but on this occasion he is way off the mark.

I reckon if Cragi Levein stays at Dundee Untied for the next 10 years then they could win the SPL in that time. He has great confidence in his team!

Didn't know the Old Firm were leaving the SPL.

Delusion Falgee, that is what Levin has, but lets get real here. He does not have the money, the squad size, enough talent, crap youth system, it go's on and on. Football has changed since the 80's, and i have been though this before, as soon as say Utd find a decent player, he lasts a season and he is bought from the OF or some team down south..Robson, Hunt? ring a bell...There is no possible way for the likes of Utd to win the league if they cannot keep there talented players. I do not particularly rate Levin, his C.V is bollocks, he is very average, but looks good in a shite league, if some bottom half club in the Championship down south come calling for him, he is gone..He is filling the Utd fans heads with shite, not evan JC comes away with this shite...And believe me he does come away with some shite...
Aw Zombie did i upset your delusion?
First of all, Falgee asks a decent question about Utd, and i give a realistic account of whats whats...
Now lets get on to this youth system bit, name one ITD player that has came though your system, and done well for him-self in say the last 10 years? of Evan been sold for what say 500k? cannot class Robson or Hunt as your coming though your youth (Prove me wrong?)
Next..Watford never made any kind of approach for Levin, he was only a name in the frame, just like JC was a name in the frame for Watford..and add another 20 mangers in there too..So lame..If Levin is so good, why are Utd still getting only 5000 (if there lucky) home support at games?
Now what else you rambling on about..Ah us singing your so called youth players. Who? Mair and Duff you mean. Well i have been though this before, and does it not dawn on you that they see it as a set-up in there career? as the league positions have constantly suggested in the past 6/7 years oh sorry 100 years...
Now as for my club having no vision, please elaborate on this comment, it just sounds like a pathetic bitter go at the Dons, i thought you was more Intelligent than this...
Now it take 5 years to build a club does it, so that's what your saying Utd for the league in 5 years time? Lets say Utd do a Hibs and brings thought some talent, are they going to turn down the 3/4 million? i doubt it, Hibs buckled, and they are a bigger club than Utd....Did Hearts not say the same shite a while back? and they had the money to burn. Still waiting on them to win the Champions league, oh sorry i mean the SPL..
You see my whole point in the matter is, you need to be realistic. Football has changed, money talks, no body will invest in Utd, the best they can hope for is a self-sustainable club finishing in the top 6 every season, just like the rest out-side the OF.
People with Delusions come crashing down....
