    A nice shirt

    Jewelery (earrings, bracelet, etc)

    Make up

    Bag

Look in the discount sections. I was able to buy a friend of mine a bag, shirt, and earrings for about $9 only. The shirt was originally about $40 believe it or not. The bag was originally $15; and I can't remember how much the earrings cost originally.

I think that it is great your family has set a reasonable limit. Wish my in-laws would realize it's the thought that counts, not the amount that is spent.

Hit up discount stores like Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Ross' for clothes, jewelry, other accessories, and home decor.

Check the clearance area at superstores like Walmart, Target, and Kmart (They usually have a good selection of toys and candles at a really reasonable price.)

Barnes and Nobles has a fairly big selection of discounted books usually located at the front of the store by the registers....all genres (run about $4-$20)

Check online stores like Amazon.com and whatnot as well. (For example, I was looking to buy a furminator, originally priced $40...found it online for $20!)

    Good luck!
