Who, like me, thinks that actually......?
it would be very prudent of Barack Obama to nominate Gov. Sarah Palin for Secretary of Energy since after all, she is the one who has stirred up the big oil companies and reformed things in her own state where the oil and gas crisis is keen nowadays? I think he'd be an absolute genius to select her. It would put her on a crucial "team" to change things for the better and globally poise her for bigger and better venues in 2012. I think she would make an excellent Secty. of Energy! Any takers?
As far as the naysayers here go, you have to remember that even though they assaulted each other verbally during the election process, it is down to "getting the team together now" time and they all are Professionals and will behave accordingly and even though he doesn't have any oil background, she does and she would be the best candidate. She's gone against all her Republican party's heavy oil hitters and they know she's to be feared AND respected for her opinions. Notice: She's the one doing their speaking when their all together! They as governors respect her and as Republicans respect her. So it would be a natural progression and he wouldn't have to fear her in 2012. She has other fish to fry and anybody with any sense would know this, not make stupid remarks for everyone to see. And NO, this is NOT SATIRE!

I think the country treated this woman like pure **** and we should be ashamed of tearing her to pieces, as well as Obama and the rest of the fine upstanding citizens that for whatever reason they were willing to give it their best shot for their country. I would like to see Palin brought on board, I was not a supporter of her but I believe she is sincere and able bodied to serve. We owe all these fine folks a debt of gratitude whether you agree with them or not. This is one of Barack Obama's finest points.

It would be a bold move to incorporate a republican into his energy staff. However, just because Sarah Palin is from Alaska doesn't qualify her as an energy expert. I would say that a person like T Boone Pickens, while not a politician, would be a better choice. He has a firm grasp of both the mechanical engineering and the economics of electrical production and energy retreival. I feel that he is much more qualified than Sarah Palin in almost every aspect. However, i highly doubt that obama will pick any republican leaning advising members simply due to the traditional antipathy toward this manouver. If i recall correctly FDR was the last president to do such a thing, or perhaps it was lincoln, either way, it is not very popular.

Because Obama has no intensions of drilling for our own oil, and I don't see Sarah Palin as one who would be a good alternative energy Secretary...somehow I just don't see Palin trying to convince the public that windmills are the energy of the future...I just can't see that.

She'd never get any support from those guys nor the ignorantly biased public - she'd be a good pick though. Obama is not a genius so he will continue to staff his circus with the usual clowns.

Ms. Palin did what she could to drag President-Elect Obama's name through the mud through insinuation and borderline defamation. She repeatedly linked him with William Ayers, insinuating that Obama was a terrorist by association. However, President-elect Obama was a mere child when Ayers was engaging in illegal activities; when President-elect Obama did know Mr. Ayers, he was a college professor, no longer engaging in illegal activities.
Palin was a veritable thorn in President-elect Obama's side, conducting political rallies which smacked of bigotry and hatred for President-elect Obama.
President-elect Obama would not be able to trust Ms. Palin. She is better off serving her gubernatorial office in "Russia's backyard," and retiring to obscurity thereafter, a mere footnote in history in regards to the Presidential Election of 2008, and fodder for SNL reunion shows.

Also, it would make her more of a threat incase she decided to run in 2012. THe democrats want her to stay as dumb as possible and be thought of as a joke by the majority. The more politically smart, the better she will do in 2012 if she runs against Obama

I like people who think outside of the "box". Good for you. Not a practical solution with all of the partisan insanity in our country right now. Barack is probably intimidated by Sarah.

Excuse me... I'm new here so I don't wish to be rude, but this is one of the worst ideas I've heard since Sarah Palin went back to Alaska. She has no place in the new administration.

well you get an A for imagination. The real problems with her thinking are that shes a drill baby drill person. Not for renewable energy.
The serious character flaws and hyper religiosity are her greatest drawback.
