I can't uninstall programs?
I try to uninstall a program and it says NSIS error - error launching installer. Anybody know what to do?
Thanks very much guys. The program is emule.
I tried revo uninstaller but it came up with the same error.
when I go to control panel and add remove programs it only shows the first 4 programs
I managed to uninstall it and reinstall it but it only has one server, it's supposed to have a lot more.

NSIS is Nullsoft Scriptable Install System. It's a bit of software built into a considerable amount of programs.
The only thing it can be is it is a corrupt file that's the reason you can't unload it. Try reinstalling the program [prefably from another source if you downloaded it] and then try again.
If that doesn't work you will have to remove it manually.
1. If it has an icon in the task bar > exit it.
2. Delete any shortcuts on the desk top
3. Start > Programs > Delete it from the Start Up if it is in there and delete it in the list of Programs
4. Right click on Start and select Explore All Users > In the left hand Panel scroll down to Programs > Expand it and find the program [It may be listed under the Software Producers and not under Emule] > Delete all the folders.
5. Defragment the Hard Drive.
6. Use a Registry Cleaner to clean all the files out of the Registry.
[like CCleaner from http://www.piriform.com/ ]
7. Reboot the computer and that should be the finish of that!

Sound like you're having an issue with one program in particular.
Try unistalling it manually then using a program such as CCleaner to remove the registry keys associated with this program.

hi john, first we need to correct the error so reboot and when you see your windows logo start tapping f8 it will correct the error that we have now when you get back to your desktop hit start>settings>control panel hit the add/remove and uninstall it. if that does not take care of your problem then exit back to your desktop hit start>programs>accessories>system tools scrol down to system restore there you will see a calender hit the first lit number to your left then this should take care of your problem. another thing i recommend is go back to your control panel and in internet options delete your history and your cookies then go back to system tools and defragment it is very important to finish this step it will take awhile. good luck hope i was helpful to you

what software are you trying to uninstall? some software like nero for instance can be a pain to remove. visit the manufacture's website and see if they have anything to remove the software. if you can't find anything, drop them an email

You must have deleted or corrupted a windows file.
Do a 'refresh install' of Windows. (Do not format)
also, some software has a 'repair' function, if so, try that.
