What makes 10 points so important?

"Best answer - 10 points", "First to answer - 10 points", Correct answer gets 10 points". So what? Shouldn't the percentage of best answers be more important?

    cos most questioners are aged 13 , abusing the catergory, a childish thing to add that nonsense in to get attention .
