My hometown wasn't a city. It's a small town.

While it's not exactly fame, being named as the best retirement place in the States should be up there in your book. For us, it hurt like hell - strangers moving in and raising our taxes then bailing when they didn't/couldn't pay the bill they created. Left us holding the bag in a big way.

I'd rather be better-than-average instead of famous. Hurts less, in many ways.
