Physics help please!!!?

This is a physics questions. Can you please explain how to draw a system Schema and how to also draw a force diagram. As well as how to write an equation for forces in equilibrium. Also if you can provide an example and on how to do it. I have a test on this stuff and i have no idea how to do it. Thanks SOO much! :)

btw. i know it doesn't go here but that were most ppl usually go

    well we are just learning force diagrams but they are with the forces so like Fg is weight in N it always points down and is present on every force on earth. Then Fn goes up when an object is supporting another object. Then there is Far= air resistance, Ft- tension when a rope is present or chain

    Hopefully that was helpful

    Niskido Ryo or whatever your name is you did the equations wrong...... Just to let you know oh and the Fn and Fa or whatever does not always point to the right or what ever you said it either opposes the force or is in the direction. Get your facts straight! Your going to make her fail!

    this is a great site to explain

    You are suppose to mark the axis on the force diagram as neg or positive and then use sin, cos, tan to figure out there values AND THINGS ON THE FORCE DIAGRAM AND THINGS WITH FORCES IN GENERAL ARE IN NEUTONS so you times the mass by 9.81 to get N

    The system diagram is basically just showing where everything is in relation to everything else in your system. The force diagram shows all the forces acting in and on your system (examples: gravity and air resistance on a falling ball, gravity and normal force on a stationary car, gravity, normal force, friction force, and air resistance on a moving car). You will probably use a point as a representation of the objects in your system if you are in basic physics, because it is easier to think about forces acting on a single massive point (located at the center of mass of the actual object's location). To use an astronomy example, say our system consists of two stars close to each other. They would be represented as two points located at the center of each star. The force diagram would include arrows pointing from each point towards the other, because there is a gravitational attraction between the two objects. Forces in equilibrium are balanced forces, meaning that they are equal. For example, the normal force on the block due to the ground is equal to the force on the ground due to the block (which is the mass of the block times the force of gravity). Hope that helps!

    Wow. Way for everyone to be jerks.

    When all the forces are balanced (Fw to Fn, Ff to Fa) then you have equilibrium. They don't all have to match up, but the parallel pairs do (the one's I paired up). I'm not sure what equation to use, but if you subtract the parallels and they don't equal zero, the forces are unbalanced. If they do equal to zero, the forces are balanced. (ei, Ff=8, Fa=4. 8-4=4, unbalanced. Fn=6, Fw=6. 6-6=0, balanced. That is not equilibrium. If Ff=4 and Fa=4, and then 4-4=0, THEN the forces will be in equilibrium.)

    To draw the forces diagram, first draw a square. On each side, draw an arrow pointing out of the square. One on each side. The arrow on the right is Fa, the arrow on the left is Ff. The arrow pointing up is Fn, and the arrow pointing down is Fw. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikibooks/en/c/c9/Fhss... <---In there they have Ff as Fpush. idk wtf

    REMEMBER: Fn does NOT mean Newtons. N standards for NORMAL FORCE. Fw=weight in kg times gravity (g or -9.8, but better to write g because it's neater and easier on the eyes. :])

    And don't forget your equations!

    F=ma

    Vf2=Vi2+2ad

    Vf=Vi+at

    d=Vit+1/2at2

    d=1/2(Vi+Vf)t

    Good luck on your test!
