My amp blows out the fuses. Any suggestions on the deal?

i got an audiobahn 800W RMS monochannel amp. it has 2- 30A amp fuses.

before i had 2- audiobahn 400W RMS power subs connected to this amp, i could turn it up full blast and nothing would be wrong.

here recently i put in 2 kicker 800W subs 4ohm, and i noticed it hit harder and starts to dim the lights on the car. the others didnt. anyway i was hitting good for a while, then suddenly the 2 30A fuses busted out. so i turned the bass on the radio down, replaced the two fuses and when i turned it on it was on for a few seconds, and the music volume was all the way down and the fuses burned out again? any suggestions...i got the schoche 6 guage wire kit, i think its six..

    You mentioned your light's dimmed....likely as a result of drawing more power than can be supported by your alternator, so then it's drawn off the battery. When the battery gets low in power, the alt. will kick-up the voltage to re-charge it, and it can get as high as 14v.

    watts = volts X amps

    800w = 14v x 57A

    Since you used 60A fuses....60 x 14 = 840W! It's entirely possible that the voltage spike caused damage to your amp.

    Using a pair of 30A fuses (in parallel), could potentially cause the Amp to blow, but there are also usually built-in fuses on the amp which should blow (assuming those are the correct values).

    OR:

    You exceeded the RMS wattage of the 800W woofer, damaging the coil. Test the resistance across the woofer's coil to see if it's still 4Ohms, because if you over-drove it, then the wound copper coil will melt shorting out the resistive pathway.

    Regardless:

    I'd recommend sound insulating your vehicle, it'll cost you less(time money and headache), but you'll feel like your driving a luxury vehicle. You can buy three 400w woofers and still have to crank it all the way up to hear any quality, or you can buy one punchy 400W woofer, and some shakers for that low rumble you want.

    That extra $$ you save can put it towards a house with sound insulation so you don't have to sit on your porch complaining about the darn kids with their subwuffers on your street.

    You'll probably want to start making use of a capacitor. 1 Farad for every 1000 watts of low frequency drivers (<70Hz) is a good general rule.

    most likely there is a short somewhere in the sub or the amp. also low voltage will damage the amp and cause it to blow too.. i say get a different brand amp al together but thats my opinion. i love kicker so the subs are good but they amp i dont know. and your lights are diming before the subs and amps are drawing more power than ur battery and alternator can put out. so get a yellow top battery for the front and get a kintik cap 600 which is alot better than a 1 farad cap. a kinktik cap is a car audio cap that is 100 of the 1 farad caps. and if you can redo the wiring to your alternator to your battery to a 4 gauge or 0 gauge that will really help

    Maybe the fuses are shitty, but car speakers aren't really meant to blast on in fact your not supposed to blast any amp.

    Quit playing it so loud! Your music is for you, not the people around you. Why do you want to hurt people who have done nothing to you? Wait until you are older and have a house, and when your baby and wife are sleeping, some teenage kid drives up and down your street with one of those. Then you will owe us all an apology.
