For the fur issue, you might try simple Johnson & Johnson Baby shampoo. That will help to determine if it is an allergy.

As far as food, check at your vet or local pet stores such as PetsMart or Petco. Make sure that you stick to only one food, as changing your dogs food may cause it to have a tummy ache. You could try feeding your dog a bit of cottage cheese or yogurt in between the foods to allow the stomach to be lined, as to not upset it and keep your dog from eating.

I have had a teacup Chihuahua for over 2 years now. She started losing her hair (she is a long coat Chi) when she was a little over a year old. Our Veterinarian ran all kinds of tests on her to try and find and explanation for the hair loss and found nothing physically wrong with her...it just happens. They told us to use oatmeal shampoo on her ONLY! We also feed her the Nutro natural choice small bites food and she really loves it. It is available at PetSmart or Petco. Hope this helps! Good luck:)

I have a very small breed dog as well, and at one point was losing some of her hair. I did two things. #1- I started bathing her twice a week in Hartz Living Infusions, Skin and Coat Shampoo for Dogs and Puppies;contains Vitamins A&E for healthy skin and coat. #2- I switched her food to Iams for Small and Toy dogs. But you might want to keep in mind that she may still need some puppy nutrients as well as grown dog nutrients, so I would also consider, Beneful food for puppies. The shampoo helped tremendously with my little ones hair loss, and also I think it had something to do with the nutrition too. Hope this helps!

there's no such thing as a teacup dog that's the name breeders give to the runts so they can sell them.

try bathe him with johnsons baby shampoo, feed him on food designed for oy breeds, i only feed my dogs james wellbeloved (hyper-allergenic), boiled chicken breast (skinless & bone less) white rice and some vegetables, i lost my eldest chihuahua earlier this year (she was 20 years old) my sister has a 11 year old chihuahua and is looking for a little boy chihuahua.

i now have 2 mini long haired dachshunds (17 years old and nearly 2 years old)

Source(s): my cousin use to breed long coated chihuahuas and have owned 5 chihuahuas over the years.

There is no such thing as a teacup. It's just a chi.

By any chance is he blue? Blues have coat problems and can lose hair. It could also be allergies. I would say have the vet check him out to be sure.

I feed my chi's Natures Variety. They seem to be doing well on it.

NO SUCH THING as a TEACUP! You've probably purchased a "teacup" from an unreputable backyard greeder and will have health issues all of his life. Take the dog back to the vet's and be prepared to spend a major amount of money over the dog's lifetime.

Buy a book on chiuauas, and read what the AKC standards are and if your dog don't meet the standards then it is a ill breed

There is only one size of these dogs

AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SUCH THING AS A TEACUP CHI OR ANY OTHER DOG.

NO. the only element a 5 month previous desires is formulation or breast milk (whichever you're using) till you're giving him/her solids (toddler nutrition) i does not advise something like tea or liquids with caffeine till a minimum of the age of one. you're able to confer with the pediatrician first
