Were did people go when they died before Jesus died.?
The bible say's that no one has seen Heaven except for the Son of Man. My daddy say's that we don't go to heaven first that there's a different place called Paradise. Cause Jesus said to the other guy's hanging on the cross do not worry for today you will be with me in Paradise. but my Grandma say's that before Jesus died every one went to hell and ther was a seperate place for the good soul's, and that's why Jesus went to hell and paid the price for our sin's, got the key's to hell and freed the good soul's. That's why it say's the dead in Christ will rise before we do. but I guess my question is Is Heaven and Paradise the Same thing, and will all Christian's see god at first cause it say's that only the pure in heart will see God.

The short answer:
1. When anyone dies, their bodies return to dust. This is often called "being gathered to his people" (Genesis 25:8), "fallen asleep", and the like.
2. The spirit of man – which is his life from God returns to God. (An interesting translation of bodily death in the KJV is to "give up the ghost" or spirit… showing that the spirit leaves the body at death. See Gen. 25:8; 35:29; Lam. 1:19; Acts 5:10. The NIV has the less poetic "breathed his last breath". Another word we use is "expire".)
3. The soul of man – mind, will, emotions, personality, self-consciousness lives on.
4. Before Jesus came, the souls of both the damned and the blessed went to a place called Sheol in the OT and Hades in the NT. They were in two compartments, separated by a vast gulf. Even then the damned were in agony in the flame, but the blessed were comforted in Abraham’s Bosom (KJV).
5. After Jesus died, He descended into Hades and rescued the blessed from the devil’s captivity, and took them to Paradise or Heaven. This is where the souls of the blessed go now when they die.
6. When Jesus returns at the Rapture, the bodies of the dead in Christ will rise first, but will be changed on the way up and reunited with their souls and spirits. And then those that are still alive in the flesh will be transformed also.
7. After Armageddon, the Millennial reign of Christ, and the battle of Gog and Magog, the bodies of the rest of the dead will rise, but they will not be transformed. They will be judged for their sins and cast into the lake of fire (Gehenna), along with Hades itself and the devil and his angels.

There is a place that they go and that is the grave. There will be a time when they will be resurrected from the grave when Christ returns. When Christ spoke to the condemned man next to Him, the Holy Scriptures read:
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, Today you shall be with Me in Paradise.
Unfortunately, this is a mistranslation. When the original text was written, commas where not used. When it was translated, the people putting it together used a comma where it should not have gone. It rightly should be read as this:
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you today, you shall be with Me in Paradise. [Notice where the second comma is].
Christ was making a promise to the repentant sinner at that very moment that He would not forget him. Now some may argue that this is incorrect. To those who believe this, all I will ask then is; Did Christ Himself go to Paradise on that night? Everyone knows that Christ did not go to Paradise/Heaven that very night. That happened three nights and three days later. Is Christ a liar? ABSOLUTELY NOT! If Christ would have gone to Paradise that night, then all of christendom is lost to a lie, but thankfully Christ is our perfect sacrifice and He did all according to the Holy Scriptures.
No man has gone to Heaven but Christ our Savior. There will be a time when He will call all the dead. Some to everlasting life and some to everlasting death.
From what I know, I am certain Paradise and Heaven are the same.
You will find all of your answers in the Holy Bible if you are sincere and the Holy Spirit leads you. Pray for these things and you will know what's really going on.

These are very good questions. Not all Bible scholars agree. It seems that the souls who were dead had the Gospel preached to them: "he (Jesus) also went and preached to the spirits who were in prison." (1st Peter 3:19). The question is exactly what or where is the "prison" Peter is talking about. This is why the Roman Catholic Church came up with the doctrine of "limbo." The souls of the dead go to a place called limbo where they await the resurrection. Is this different from "Hades," "the grave," or "Paradise"? My belief is that it is the same as the grave and Hades, but different from Paradise, which is probably different from Heaven.
Who really knows the answer to these mysteries? One thing is for sure, those who believe in Jesus Christ will live forever with him in heaven, sooner or later.
The pure in heart will see God, then in heaven, and also now, with the "eyes of faith."

True JC said that bad dude was going to paradise, , but wasn't repentant untill now . Rom 6;23 says that the wages or penalty sin pays is death OK .The gift is everlasting life ,it wasn't your choice to be born with sin but we got it from grandad Adam, so we all need another chance .Hence the Resurrection to Paradise John 5 ;28.29 (PLEASE READ)
Paradise may be here sooner than you think , lets hope so because we all need it
What does the lords pray say Mat 6;10 Let your kingdom come let your will take place in heaven and on earth
The paradise that Adam lost, and that's part of Gods will on earth that all men / women be saved and the earth returned to a Paradise, and the dead to be resurrected to this Paradise
HELL is the common grave of mankind , comes from the greek word Hades , Does;t mean Torture or fire just dead or as Jesus called it sleep in death.
Some go to heaven , some call them saints , some call them bride of Christ The Witnesses Call them the Anointed they are pure in heart and they will see the heavens
( rev 5:10and they will rule over the Paradise or the earth as Kings and Priest )

Before Jesus died, all who died believing in God went to Paradise. In that point in time, Hell and Paradise we're not far away from one another so the devil came and took over Paradise holding God's servants captive. When Jesus died he went to Paradise and saved all his believers. Now God is creating a new Heaven which no one has seen but, Angels are now in the old Heaven (not the same as Paradise) where they are bieng held until judgement day. I do not remember the scriptures exactly but, with Luke and some outside research I found that out.

I believe that no one has yet gone to heaven. As your Dad said. Which makes sense if you think about the fact that we have not been "Judged" yet. That wont happen until Christ comes. So, where do we go? I like to call it the "waiting room". Where it is I don't know, but we DO know that Christ went there during his three days before Resurrection. We know this as he told Mary not to touch him as he had not yet gone to his Father. 1 Peter 3:19 says
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
But wait, didn't he tell the thief he was going to paradise? so how could he have been in paradise and prison? I believe that it is both. Those who lived righteous, good lives are in a peaceful paradise while they wait for judgment, but those who did not live righteously are filled with the guilt and weight of their sins and are in a "prison" with their thoughts, dreading judgment. While both can be in the same place, the way they would describe this place is totally different.
God has promised eternal happiness to those who are rightous and would not punish them that way. King David is in "hell" for a time. But couldnt that just be that he is stuck waiting for judgement suffering with the choices he made?

All those who died before He was born and then they who believe ascended to heaven with Him. They are Saints in heaven
Sheol / Hades is a realm with two divisions (Matthew 11:23; 16:18; Luke 10:15; 16:23; Acts 2:27-31), the abodes of the saved and the lost. The abode of the saved was called "Paradise" (purgatory)and "Abraham's bosom." The abodes of the saved and the lost are separated by a "great gulf fixed" (Luke 16:26). The abode of the dammed was also there but separated by a great body of water (Luke 16:19-31)
When Jesus died he descended into Hell / Sheol / The Grave. When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He took the occupants of Paradise (purgatory)(believers) with Him (Ephesians 4:8-10). The lost side of Sheol / Hades has remained unchanged. All unbelieving dead go there awaiting their final judgment in the future. Did Jesus go to Sheol / Hades? Yes, according to Ephesians 4:8-10 and 1 Peter 3:18-20.

Paradise and Heaven are the same thing.
Hell is a scare tactic invented by the Catholic Church, and unfortunately, all Christians still believe in it.
People who existed before Jesus did <not> automatically go to hell, do not pass Go, do not collect $200. This is a lie that unfortunately, some churches teach, sadly tricking some people into believing it.
Christians are not the only ones in Heaven, non-Christians are there also. That's because Christians don't own the monopoly of having a pure heart.

Hello!
Paradise was a Compartment NEXT to Hell, in the Middle of the Earth---BEFOR Jesus went back to Planet Heaven.
Heaven is a Planet. Earth is a "Copy" of Planet Heaven.
Much of what is on Earth is on Planet Heaven.
When Jesus Died on the Cross, HE went into Hell and Preached the "Word" concerning getting Born-Again.
Every Old Testament Saint, that was Saved in Paradise, GOT Born-Again ( got their Spiritual Part, ReCreated).
THEN, Jesus Went Back to Heaven and TOOK Paradise with HIM, and All of the Old Testatment Saints Too!
Paradise Is Not in the Middle of the Earth (beside of Hell) ANYMORE, it is Up on Planet Heaven (very far Away) and Sits Around the Throne Room of GOD Almighty (The Father).
See?

The word translated Hell actually means “the abode (dwelling place) of the dead.” Before Jesus sprinkled His blood on the altar in Heaven no one could go there, so those who died in faith went to the abode of the dead to wait for this event. It was sometimes called Abraham’s Bosom or Paradise. When Jesus died He went there to get them and take them to Heaven. (Ephes. 4:8)
So Heaven and Paradise are not the same, and however amazing it sounds, Hell and Paradise are.
The pure in heart are all those who trust in Jesus as their Savior. It is the intent of hearts that God always looks to. We will rise (either from the grave or from the living) and meet Jesus in the air. It will happen in the twinkling of an eye as the bible says. We will all be then transformed into the righteous and meet our Creator.
