Can someone help me out, i have a question concerning my retainer...?

Okay so i got my braces off way back in january and have always been pretty loyal with wearing my retainer. A few weeks ago i had my last visit to the orthodontist and he said since ive been good with wearing them , i only have to wear them at night. Well sometimes i have to slip my retainer in a napkin in my purse or something cause i dont always have the case. I noticed today after i did that and put them back in after a few hours , it felt kinda tight and I was wondering if it is normal to not have the retainer bar in the middle of my teeth. See how in this picture the bar is right in the middle? Mine is where the black line is http://img159.imageshack.us/my.php?image=retainery...

Im not sure if maybe i just didnt notice it was that low or if i bent it or something, The bar is straight , its just where the black line is instead. Is that right?

I used to wear a retainer, so I know what you mean.

The retainer needs to be kept wet, and should not be kept outside of your mouth or outside a container of water for long.

Now, I believe that once you put it in water for a few hours, it should feel right again.

I'd ask your orthodontist. He'd know better than anyone else. I'm guessing it's just getting old and should be okay.

    well, mine is that low.

did the ortho adjust them any?

if he didn't, comething might have put pressure on it and made it move... i'd suggest going back to the office sometime soon.
