So why are all the Christians getting upset about this sign in Washington State?
I thought you /liked/ signs?
My bad, I assume given every third question on here was about it, everyone had heard:

They don't like the bad omens.
Besides, this one is far too clear. No way to twist the interpretation to suit their needs.

I just read the sign, not the article. That was enough for me. I do not belong to an organized religion, neither am I an atheist, so my opinion is just my own.
Instead of judging - either Christians judging Atheists or Atheists judging Christians - why don't we try and live a more loving, non-judgemental, non-prejudicial life, no matter what our beliefs are. Bickering back and forth over - this is what I believe I am right - gets us nowhere but anger, frustration and fear.
How is that a good way to live our lives. Get on with living our personal lives without hate towards anybody, no matter how different their beliefs are to mine.
I do NOT agree with the sign. The are trying to put their point across that they have different beliefs than those who celebrate Christmas. The trouble is that they are using negativity to put their point across, and Christmas nativity scenes are trying to convey love.
Just like animal lovers blow up buildings to put their point across - negative actions do the opposite. They do not help a cause, they harm it.

A big deal about nothing. The sign does not prevent Christians from putting up the Manger Scene, it merely offers a contrasting point. Do Christians protest the Menonah display? So why protest a simple sign that expresses another viewpoint. It's the Christians making a big deal out of nothing. Don't like what the sign says, skip it. Go look at your model barnyard/nursery scene.

The most of the sign is effectively a statement of an atheistic belief, and probably would not have provoked the same strength of reaction if the sign writer had not included the last sentence. "Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."
That statement would clearly be insulting to many religious people, particularly Christians due to its position next to a Nativity scene.

Bigotry and hatred has a line that shouldn't be crossed. It's good to get the point across, but when you do it like that, it doesn't deserve respect; it deserves as much bigotry as the atheists put in the sign.
Still, I'm happy of the fact that not all atheists are so intolerant of religion. In fact, some atheists I've met are the nicest people in the world.
But again, why hate when you can simply leave them to it?

We can get upset about the sign the same way you would get upset seeing a nativity seen or In God We Trust on our dollar bills. It doesn't make us evil because we get upset for someone hating our Father.
That being said, no one had the right to take the sign down. You are entitled to your point of view as well.

They can not like that the sign is up but they have no right to even try to remove such a sign as it would go against free speech; to forcefully remove it would be anti-American. Also, it is irrelevant that "they are upset", they are just going to have to deal with it just as the millions and billions of non-Christians constantly deal with images and words based on Christianity.

Possibly because the sign was put up to mock our belief. However Jesus said not to be surprised when this happens, because they are actually mocking Him. Atheists say that we don't allow them to have freedom of speech and beliefs, needless to say, they don't either- if it had been done in reverse and the atheists had put the sign up first, they would have complained. We have a right to complain about the sign, because it is the manger scene that is a symbol of God's love- the sign is a sign of man's hate.

I just asked a couple questions about it and atheists out of good humor but it was not well received, funny how humor in here works one way.

I heard about that on the news. I think the whole situation is ridiculous. Why do we go through this every year? Is this what Jesus would do?
