What are you the most thankful for today?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agowhat are you the most thankful for today?
Sometimes this site can get pretty intense, with feelings on both sides of adoption. I have an idea, and if you choose not to do this that is fine, but please only positive things today. What is one thing that you are the most thankful for in your life. And if thumbs down could be avoided today that would be wonderful, because everyone has a right to be thankful for whatever they desire to be thankful for. No wrong or right answers
21 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoWhat are you the most thankful for?
I have done something this year that has proven to be very wonderful. Every day this month I have thought about something that I am thankful for. For me it has reminded me of the things that God has done for me, and how grateful I am , even when things don't go the way that I want them too. Has anyone ever found something to be grateful for in the hard times? We can be thankful IN all circumstances even when we cannot be thankful FOR all circumstances.
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agowhat do you think about this quotation by St. Augustine?
"Without God, we cannot. Without us God will not".
You notice that it does not say God cannot. God desires us to be in partnership with Him.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agodo Atheists "force" their children not to believe in God?
What do you say to your children when they come to you and say they want to believe? Do you tell them it is ok, or do you force your non-belief onto them? I shared my faith with my children, however, they have made their own minds up. I gave my children a choice, do you? i hope so
41 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agowhy do people think because I had a wonderful adoption experience I must be living in denial?
I have had many people here tell me that I am living in denial because I say that I had a great adoption experience. I am not saying that some people have not had bad experiences, and I don't tell them they are living in denial. If I did not think adoption was a good thing, do you think that I would have gone ahead and adopted 2 children myself?
38 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoDo you agree with this quote by Abraham Lincoln?
Nothing is politically right which is morally wrong.

Either we conform our desires to the truth or we conform the truth to our desires. —Os Guinness
I believe it is one of the best descriptions of truth I have read in a long time, outside scriptures.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOn Y&R, how many of you are hoping that Cane and Lilly will get back together?
Even though Cane was deceiving, he really does love Lilly, and i know that Lilly really loves him. I think they are going to use Lilly's cancer as a way to get them back together. I am hoping he does not leave the show, and I hope that she is going to be ok- they are 2 of my favorites on the show

Also we can show God that we love Him, by living our lives to please Him, and obeying His word
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agowhat do you think about this quote?
"our relationship with Christ, is not as important as our being a reflection of Christ".
I think our relationship with Christ is important and that is how we start out with Him, however if we never reflect His image, others will not care that we have a relationship with Him. So I think the quote is accurate.

34 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre most adoptees pro-life or pro-choice?
I am an adoptee and also an adoptive parent and I cannot understand how anyone who has been adopted could be anything but pro-life. If there are pro-choice adoptees out there, I am very interested in hearing why. I am not meaning to offend, I truly am interested.
33 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoWhat do you think of this comment that Pres. Obama made at the national prayer breakfast this morning?
Obama, in prepared remarks, said, "There is no God who condones taking the life of an innocent human being."
If he truly believed that he wouldn't have signed the bill to federally fund abortions, and he would not be working on the freedom of choice act- because the most innocent LIVES of all, are in the womb.

16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agohas anyone come to know Christ, because of something that someone said here on YA?

22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agowhat are you thanking God for this Thanksgiving?
I want all of us to step out of the box a little here. Instead of thanking God for all the good things, which is easy to do, is there something in your life, that you wish was not there but you have chosen to thank God through it anyway? I have- my chronic pain disease, that I have struggled with for many, many years- I thank God that He continues to send me strength and grace, daily to endure.
