Being a big Ric Flair fan myself, i was inclined on choosing the Nature Boy, but I'd still rank him in my 5 all time favorite's list when it comes to realistic promos, rather than cheesy over the top promos, and no offense to the Rock,or Austin, but their promos were simply gimmicks, yes they had charisma, but they lacked the realism of Arn Anderson's, Ric Flair, or Jake The Snake Robert's promos. That's where i separate the two sides.

As to who were the best cutting realistic promos, and based on your criteria, then I have to pick Arn Anderson & Jake The Snake Roberts' promos. You could just see these characters being real life personas, yet they had no gimmicks when using the mic, there interviews were simply full with words wisdom and each time they spoke people would shut up and listen. In their interviews/promos, you would actually learn something new, instead of just being entertained.

Classie Freddie Blassie, Roddy Roddy Piper, also rank high on my list.

hbk or jericho. You really got the feeling they abosulutly hated either other during their program. They both are great on the mic and really get the crowd to play to that.

The most underrated perform to this day is and always will be matt hardy. He should be a true world champ, not just ecw champ, but for some reason he does not get that big a push.

  • I think that Roddy Piper cut the most realistic prmos. He always was yelling and moving around his arms. He was just born to entertain and he could cut great promos all day long.

BQ I would say Santino Marrela because he can sell moves really well and at the sametime he knows judo so if WWE ever made him a serious competiter he could do great.

Jimmy Jacobs. I always use his promo from ROH Good Times, Great Memories as a main example. But it will be tough to find it on the internet due to the heavy copyright by Ring of Honor.

BQ: Charlie Haas. He is a great young technical wrestler but this whole impersonator gimmick has really messed up his reputation.

  • Shawn Michaels. When he does do a promo his facial expression looks extreme real.HBK has been great at promo's since when he kicked Marty Jannety. After that shawn was great on the mic.

Best promo-cutter ever is Ric Flair. Man, he got fired up. And dropping an elbow on his suit jacket? Classic!

If you want to go with current wrestlers..I'd say Samoa Joe does a good job. He just sounds like he wants to beat somebody down something bad when he talks. It sounds so believable when he's saying it, that you almost think that he's willing to do what he says.

Another that is good IMO is Scott Steiner. I always say he just sounds so bad@ss on the mic. The way he talks it sounds so natural and like he means what he says.

    I'd go with Jericho.

Jericho doesn't use a script at all. He just goes out there and speaks how he naturally does. If you ever saw Jericho speak somewhere outside WWE and listened to him during RAW, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

BQ: Charlie Haas is up there.

Definately John Cena, he really doesn't have a gimmick, he goes out there and speaks to what he truely feels and beleives.
