The Seventh Day Adventist's generally believe the same as most Christian faiths do.... the trinity, salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, baptism, ect...

Some of the things that make them different are:

They believe in keeping God's commandments, including the seventh day sabbath of the Lord, the one that God sanctified and made holy at Creation. They do not keep God's laws and commandments to be saved, they do them because they are saved, it's out of love for their Creator. Jesus said "IF you love me, keep my commandments".

The Seventh Day Adventists study in-depth about prophecy and the end times.

They are health consience in that they do not drink alcohol, smoke, or eat any unhealthy (unclean) animals as described in the Bible (pork, shellfish). Most Adventists are vegetarian by choice as well, but not all of them.

hadassah gave a good general answer :) what makes Seventh day Adventists different is that we have not followed the changes in christianity like traditions within churches today. Traditions have developed over centuries and been fully accepted into what it means to be a follower of Christ -a christian. traditions such as worshipping on the 1st day of the week as the lords day , christening , prayers for the dead , and yes Christmas and Easter in its pagan forms. Simply put Adventist christians are scriptural based not followers of the masses and by studying scripture prayerfully Adventists have found prophetic revelation and an understanding of the prophecies of Daniel and the apostle John to be a people who proclaim we are extremely close to the second coming of Jesus. Adventists believe we are to be different from the world being a commandment keeping people and that has caused us to be seen as set apart , some see that makes up a cult but that is not correct we are the fastest growing evangelical church in world with over a million new people coming into the faith now every year.

Seventh day Adventists are very enthusiastic for the gospel and live it according to the word of God if that makes us different then its to glorify the Lord in being different :)

as seventh day adventists we believe in the bible sabbath. (saturday)

we believe that we need to keep our body's healthy and clean. not all seventh day adventists are vegetarian. its just healthier.

we also believe that the dead are "asleep" as the bible puts it until jesus comes back. they aren't up in heaven looking down on us and watching everything we do. we follow the whole bible, because we are protestants.

CJ to the contrary notwithstanding, they are NOT cult. They do have some strange beliefs. They believe in obeying scripture. That includes not eating unclean things, and worshiping on Sabbath, and baptism by immersion. They believe in righteousness by faith, and salvation by grace. however, they also believe in calling the Savior YAHOSHUA by heathen names, AND ignoring the annual special days that the Creator outlined in Leviticus 23.
