What is the method to make the poster ?
Everything by computer... all you would have to do is take a few of his/or her pictures of google and paste them. Then, use some fancy text for his/or her name at the top. Use matching colors. Find a few of the author's books and paste a picture of them on there or right the names of the titles on there somewhere.

One thing i WOULDN'T do is write the title up in clip art then paste it on to the poster; it looks tacky and childish. Instead, what I do, is write the title in texta or fine-liner, or write it all up on the computer. However you can write up info and paste it on - that looks good.
