What kind of brand new computer should I purchase for myself?

I just bought an HP. Its the best computer ive own. I don't know what kind it is because we added a bunch of things to make it ideal for us. Dell is pretty good too.

another note. When you buy a computer make sure that it has what you need. If you have lot's of pictures or music make sure you have a good amount of memory. For games; make sure you have a good sound card.

I am not a computer geek, but I hear and listen to many things.

I heard Dell was selling off it's computer brand to some other company, therefore Dell has new ownership.

And I've heard Dell doesn't respond to repairs in a timely fashion.

I have always heard positive things about Panasonic/ Toshiba products.

For playing games you need your computer to be fast, and have lots of space, keep that in mind

Well even though you said you don't want a mac, you should still consider getting one. If I were you I would go down to your nearest Apple store and play with some of the computers for a while. But if you absolutely don't want a mac then I recommend you get an HP because we have 3 different HP computers and none of them have failed on us. They are really great computers.

I consistently advise against procuring from a branch or electronics save considering which you quite often could purchase the entire equipment of application that includes numerous crap you dont want. I advise have Gateway construct you one such as your specs. i exploit gateways and have not had any problems with the final 3 as I even have with HP. Use the greater money for memory, bigger complicated force or perhaps though else you may want not what they want you to have

even though you don't want a laptop if you reconsider about the laptop subject you should get a sony vaio and for internet service i recommend the wireless at&t service its especially good for games because it doesn't lag as much as regular computers and mac's

I'd get a Mac, but if your really against that then just any old laptop would do.
