in the islamic countries women are forced to wear a veil whether they are muslim or not why is that?

it depends on the country, Iran and Saudi Arabia both require it, most others do not. Muslim women cover bc they believe that God commanded or others believe recommended that they do so. I believe Muhammed said that the face and hands may be visible which is way they wear the scarf. It is supposed to be her decision, although in addition to the countries above, there is often great pressure from the family for her to do so, but according to Islam they are not supposed to do that it is to be each womans choice.

You think that is strange? Here in California, women are required to wear breast coverings -- even at the *beach! Even if they are visitors from more civilized countries. Even if they are from Denmark. They still have to be covered in this unnatural way. For some inexplicable reason, it is the custom here. Go figure.

No different to christians then who are far worse!!

Intolerant, egotistical, hate filled and bigoted!! Eschewing education, science, evolution works of fiction and much, much more. Christians are the only religion opposing human rights and persecuting gays, pro choice and so much more - but far worse whilst they demand freedom of religion they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them!!!

When christians improve their behavior then they can comment about other religions!!

As soon as Christians rediscover the loving god and start acting like it the better!!!

The veil has nothing to do with being Muslim, I'm Muslim and I know in the truth of our religion we would never force such a silly thing. It's countries such as Iran that make women wear them to show that they are better than women, which isn't true at all. By doing that they're worse than women by not being able to understand such idiocy.

No that's not true. I live in Pakistan and even some Muslim women don't wear it, they don't even cover their hair, and nobody bothers them. You are not allowed to force it in Islam, but some do.

That is so unfair. We don't force muslm women to wear a cross or to wear bikinis or tube tops when they are in our free, democratic countries.

We don't force them to eat pork or unhalal food, so why must they force us to become like them?

because the leaders are doing it for stupid political reasons, and does not reflect upon Islam or it's teachings.

it's part of Islam's culture. and if you're in their country, you are required to bend to their culture as a show of respect.
