Is Yahoo no longer sending violation notices?

3 of my poems (non-controversial with no chatting) were removed this morning. The questions were stated, "would you comment on a poem about......" How does one appeal with no notice email?

If they were removed as violations, you will eventually get an e-mail. If not use the general form given. There are other reasons they can be removed.

    1. It is a violation of the rules - you will get an e-mail when that happens.

    2. There were zero answers when the time expired - no e-mail sent.

    3. The BA was reported as a violation - no e-mail sent.

    4. During voting, "No Best Answer" was chosen as the best answer - no e-mail sent.

Look in your e-mail, including the spam folder, for a violation e-mail. If not there, check your activity tab in your profile. If nothing about a violation there, then the Q was removed for one of the other reasons.

Also, if you are just posting poetry and asking for opinions of it, those are not proper questions under the YA rules. Even if you see others doing it or if you have done it before, such posts can be reported. See the second reference. The question has to be asked in a way such that advice is given, not just opinion.

in the event that they have been bumped off as violations, you will ultimately get an email. If no longer use the final type given. There are different motives they are able to be bumped off. a million. that's a contravention of the policies - you will get an email whilst that happens. 2. there have been 0 solutions whilst the time expired - no email despatched. 3. See the 2d reference. The question must be asked in a fashion such that suggestion is given, no longer in basic terms opinion.

It's sad that you would get a poem removed from the poetry section ! How else are you supposed to share without posting your work ? I cannot tell you how many times I've had clean jokes removed from the jokes & riddles section for no obvious reason... the notices usually arrive within 24 hours though... I appeal and they just never seem to respond ! If you ask me... this place is a hotbed for unwarrented censorship... and they regularly violate your first ammendment rights !

Ma, I am sorry to hear that. I so much enjoy your poetry as does many others. This system is definately flawed.

The ironic part is I asked that very question in the Y/A section about the Y/A guideline system being flawed.

I asked in a respectful manner and they deleted it.

In your case, I would guess that it's random trolls, or some COULD BE moderators who troll, that seem to be the common denominator in these complaints.

As far as not getting notices, to me it seems that somebody is not doing their job and sending them to you.

I do not like to complain as this service can be a great outlet -- for creative and inspirational and informative exhanges.

But the way Y/A randomly enforces and neglects their own so called "guidelines".....that takes away from the benefit.

It will eventually force really good posters (like yourself Ma) to not even bother contributing. Who wants to type and research and put out their work just to have it all deleted?!

Now I'm probably on "their naughty list" for giving my honest input.

You'll probably get the notice. It doesn't always come right away. Asking people to comment would be a violation. That's asking for an opinion. Some categories are tricky making it difficult to stay within the guidelines. Good luck with the appeal!

  • this is very interesting.. I had one that I had removed last week and still no notice, I did get a notice for the next one they removed, however I still am waiting for the first notice for the other one,

I had already given a best answer, It is odd that it is going on randomly.. is it a real violation or has someone gotten access that they should not have to our postings?

It really needs to be addressed, imho

I'm guessing it was the BA's that were removed and therefore the question as well. Email the people you awarded the BA and asked them if they got a notice of their answer being removed. That's all the help I can be. I don't understand any of it myself.

Hmmm...The only time I didn't receive notice was if no one answered the post or it remained in voting for an extended period with no votes. I wonder if enough people vote "No best answer" if that could be cause for removal as well. I know this is not your particular case, just throwing scenarios out there.

In my opinion, they are not doing their job properly. Some mean people enjoy reporting just about anything. At time, I read answers where the person clearly violates the rules and nobody did anything about it. Yahoo answers is fun but Yahoo definitely need to revamp their whole system.
