Jews and Muslims: nice article about how Jews and Muslims in Mumbai are uniting against terrorism?

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/a...

Good to know that Jews and Muslims in Mumbai have such a staunch friendship, isn't it?

A must-read for all those people who keep stating, wrongly that Jews and Muslims 'hate each other'!

Any thoughts?

Thanks for providing that link. It's not just in Mumbai that this happens, of course . . . at my college in the US, Hillel and the Muslim Student Association co-sponsored a lot of events and were very close.

Considering that it is a "Times" article, the ecumenism doesn't surprise me.

I agree that the Jews don't hate the Muslims, but the Muslims---as a dictate of their religion---DO hate the Jews. If they do not hate the Jews, then they are not "good" Muslims.

They killed people, here and there, in every place except the Chabad Center. In that place they killed every one. No one was spared.

Save your ecumenism for a time when our hearts are not broken over the murder, by faithful Muslims, of Jewish people.

There can be no friendship. Not now, or ever. Does the Torah speak to someone other than yourself? Wake up.

They can't. It's a cute idea, in theory, but ultimately they lack trust. If they were able to join forces, after destroying atheism, two of them would undoubtedly turn on the third. Probably the Jews and Christians trying to wipe out the Muslims, leaving the Jews and Christians to duke it out. This would never be allowed to happen through this scenario.

Wow, that was a great article.

If Jews and Muslims can be tolerant of each other in India.

Then maybe there is hope that we can all get along together in Israel.

I've always thought that religious conflict was less about religion than about political power. Once political power enters into the equation, then all of a sudden religious differences become a source of conflict.

That's why I'm a big fan of secularism (which isn't the same as atheism. It just means that the government is neutral towards all religions.)

Religion is a deeply personal thing, but I have never understood

why people of whatever religion cannot understand that others

might have different religious views to theirs, and yet live

    together in peace.

Accept this concept, and there could be far more peace in the

    world. Live and Let Live.

    Great Link!

"There's to be no compulsion in religion." The Noble Quran

It's good to see Jews and Muslims together, especially in India, they both worship ONE God and the SAME God, they don't worship human beings nor animals..

Great. And very hopeful. Sooner or later, we're going to have to stop putting such energy into hating each other

Reminds me of the story of the drug addict who stole someone's purse and then tried to help them find it. Very heartwarming.

I would be more convinced if those responsible in Pakistan, and in Thailand, and in Israel were making amends.
