How should I structure my essay?
I want to do a research paper on the dangers of smoking. What kind of subtopics should I include? Should I include personal experience or not? Any advice would be appreciated.

First have an introduction that states that smoking is dangerous for many reasons including... (then list subtopics)
Different subtopics to include should be:
- Damage smoking does to your lungs
- Damage smoking does to your heart
- Damage smoking does to your throat
- Damage smoking does to your etc.
- Consequences of smoking (breathing through a hole in your neck)
- Short term effects
- Long term effects
Try to include personal experience, but without saying that it is you. For example write, "John Doe (any name works) smoked and blah blah blah" instead of " I smoked and blah blah blah" (don't include the blahs, but instead, put your personal experience.)
Most teachers don't like it when students put "I" or "We" or "Our" (unless talking about 'our' society as a whole) in any paper.
