downloaded messenger beta and messenger will not open windows vista). Are there any known problems?
I just downloaded messenger 9.0 beta for vist and program will not open. get windows error message saying program failed to open and is shutting dow. Any ideas of know problems??

If you are using Version 9.0, it has too many problems. This is what I recommend:
First you have to uninstall the 9.0 version, or any other version you have. Go to CONTROL PANEL----than go to PROGRAMS/FEATURES, or ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Scroll down till you see YAHOO MESSENGER. Click on it and than click UNINSTALL. Use this link below that I provided to install:

What messenger? Windows Live? Yahoo!?
Yahoo! is out of beta and the official site does not have the beta any more, so I am going to assume you mean Windows Live.
Yes, there are plenty of problems with Windows Live beta, but I'm not familiar with them.
If you DO mean Yahoo!, I dont know how you got the beta... but its now out of the beta state.
There are problems with both, and they arent worth the headache. For Windows live, I recommend googling for Version 2008 (Microsoft should have it), and for Yahoo! Messenger, you'll want version 8.1.0.421 (filehippo will have it).
They wont give you any problems. Just remember you have to get rid of any versions you have now for the older versions to work.
