I have a Dell 1501 laptop and want to do a powerpoint using my TV to watch?

What connections do I need to be able to show this presentation using my TV/ DVD player?

    EDIT:

    Check this program out

    http://www.tucows.com/preview/369507

It converts Powerpoint videos to DVD. You could buy this and download it to your computer (as long as you have the ability to burn DVDs). You wouldn't even have to leave your chair in order to get your satisfaction.

Here is a product that would do such a thing:

This was the cheapest product I could find for you.

    @ Mesa:

This laptop doesn't have an S-Video output. Don't give people advice if you don't know what on Earth you're talking about.

i've checked the specs on your notebook so unless your TV that you're using supports VGA connection you won't be able to do it. Your machine doesn't not have S-video port. You're only alternative is getting an external device that will have your composite Component. But they're really hard to find if you do they are designed to do more like help you capture video from other source such as vcr,tv,camcorders. You might want to consider getting a cheap projector they usually have the vga connector.

    hope that helps

ive got a 1520 which is almost similar,

Does your computer have an Svideo output if so you Just need a s video cable and go into display prop and click on the settings tab and it should show two monitors when plugged in.

It never works out that easy for me lol

Or if you've got a Nvidia video card right click on your dektop and it should say NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL,

If you dont have either of these you CAN burn it to a dvd/svcd

or you could go onto ebay and buy a VGA to RCA convertor box and you Just plug your vga/ monitor lead into it and plug your yellow red and white cables into the tv

    Good luck

I advise you to convert your presentation onto DVD using a conversion tool like Moyea PPT to DVD Burner. Then you can watch the slide show on TV.

Download a free one from http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/download/

    Hope it can help.

All depends on what TV you have.

If you have a flat screen with a VGA connector(normal monitior cable) then you can plug from your output on the laptop to the TV then out put to monitor.

This will be in control panel, display settings.

Or Function/F8 is the short cut

If you have an older TV then you would probably need a tv card in your laptop.

Well, Richard beat me to the punch. I personally use the product he listed, and I would have to say that it's the easiest and best way to hook up your laptop to almost any television screen imaginable.

    Source(s): I own Richard's suggestion :)
