Did anyone hear about this day without a gay boycott?

I guess they're all supposed to call in sick and not spend money on wednesday. Would 2% of the population taking a day off really matter, except in areas like the castro district in san fran where they would really only be hurting their own businesses?

Update:

tonalc 2 am i being critical really , im just asking an opinion.

Update 2:

legend of green really half wow, I just heard somewhere 2% , so I used it in my question , where I live I would think that might be accurate , but half?

    A Day without Gays? Hmm…

Most people have a positive impact on our society - that includes most homosexuals! As a Christian I would not promote “A Day without Gays.” I would like to see a day without gay activists. Just think, a day without being called a bigot, or hate monger just because you don’t agree with someone -- that might be refreshing.

I wholeheartedly support a person’s right to do whatever they wish with whomever, as long as each party is consenting. Why don’t those in favor of homosexual “marriage” come up with their own term instead of blatantly stepping on the feelings of others?

Why, because activists who want to push their agenda and break down all social barriers regarding sexual limitations. In doing so they are manufacturing this whole controversy regarding homosexual rights. They proclaim that Christians who are not in favor of their agenda are "bigots" and denigrate their speech as "hate." Why after over 200 years of our country’s history should a “new” right be manufactured out of whole cloth?

Don’t listen to the lies of homosexual activists! Christians do not hate homosexuals! Our support of marriage as being valid only between one man and one woman is about our faith, not about hating anyone's sexual choice, lifestyle, or proclivity.

    BTW...

1-3% is the current estimation of the percentage of homosexuals in the USA. It is not anywhere close to 50% even in gay friendly havens like San Francisco or Palm Springs, CA

August first (Wednesday) became help Chick-Fil-an afternoon for those that are hostile to gay marriage. August third ( immediately/Friday) became gay kiss day at Chick-Fil-A in the event you help gay marriage. Neither day became created through Chick-Fil-A. And the major reason we are disenchanted is because the corporate gave away 5 money to anti-gay communities some that only artwork hostile to homosexuals. This has never been replaced and became the reason us gay were mad from the starting up. And the truly record of communities are truly hostile to gay rights so as that has never been twisted.

Well, then half the nation will be calling in sick, since homos are half the population. Where do people get this figures they bandy about so recklessly anyway? Did someone make 1,000,000 phone calls and ask people if they were gay or not? Then multiply by a factor of 10 in case people were still 'in the closet' and lying about their gayness? A gay boycott. What a joke.

I'm going to call in gay and get the day off to do my Christmas shopping. I think the boycott is nonsense, the people have spoken, they voted and prop 8 passed, get over it already. You don't see the McCain supporters calling for a boycott becaue Obama won. It's nonsense. Go shopping!!!

I don't care if I'm so sick I can't stop throwing up for 2 minutes. I'm coming to work on that day.

Wow. People must be really brave to risk getting fired in this economy.

All that does is make them seem like irresponsible employees and in my opinion, makes them look very stupid. That's just dumb. Go to work like a responsible adult and then afterwards, they can go on with their little protest (if they absolutely must do so).

It reminds me of the Day without Art, an event to bring focus to the AIDS crisis.

I think the economy in some areas might suffer a setback if this day occurs. And I think it is an interesting way to call attention to their cause.

Well, one thing is for sure, I am going into the office. Wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about me.

Yes. Those who cannot take time from work are encouraged to do some community service that day.

So you criticize them for protesting in the streets, and now you criticize them for making a different kind of political protest to bring attention to the cause? Jeez.
