What would be the best web hosting for selling a product within the UK?
I have a product which I would like to sell (other than ebay) and would like to know of an easy to set up (no ads) webhost service in the UK.
Could anyone out there please help me out?

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/
Powweb is on a 50% sale - $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them.
Godaddy doesn't offer a free domain, but you can get one for $2.19 if you're buying hosting from them, plus they also have a 20% sale at the moment.

You can try 1&1, UK2, fasthosts or one.com - they are all based in the UK. Don't worry they all don't have ads. If you are not sure which to choose, I suggest you do the following:
1. Go to some webhost review sites such as webhostingjury, hostingsthatsuck.com or webhostinggeeks and rank the hostings above.
2. Next, for each web hosting X, do a “X sucks” search on Google. Read some complaints and see if you may encounter the same problems like them. Some of the complaints may relate to certain groups of users only such as VPS, dedicated server users or resellers. So you may not be affected if you are not from these categories and just need a simple hosting account to start with.
3. Eliminate those hostings you feel uncomfortable with, and look for the best bargain hosting for your money.
Good luck.

I use Webhostingpad and certainly do recommend it. They've got a free site builder, lots of plug-in software like: e-stores, forums, blogs, photo galleries. It's only $3.99 USD / month and comes with a domain name of your choice. I've set up an online store for my grandmother in just 1 day. Here's the link (http://www.webhostingpad.com/2572.html) check it out.

Check out startup-express.com, I use them and its great for the price. They have servers in America and the UK so I would expect its good there too. Its cheap and it has a script installer so you can automatically install osCommerce which is the most popular shopping cart/ecommerce software.
