i want to know if malwarebytes' anti-malware protection module is a good thing to buy for staying protected from malware.

It's a good idea to do so.  Many people get rogue software on their system despite having the real time protection from their antiviruses or internet security.  I see so many cases, where AVG, Avast, Avira, Norton, McAfee, and the list goes on failed to prevent rogue software creeping onto their system.  I got Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware PRO and it doesn't conflict at all with both of the real time protections.

You can get that Malwarebytes AntiMalware instead of buying it.
But you can also purchase it to get better protection.

I have heard some good things of this program although from personal experience the free software: SpyBot - Search and Destroy, is quite effective.
