How can I make my hair look wavy/curly if I have REALLY LONG, STRAIGHT, THICK hair?

I have really really really long hair (down a little past my butt) it is very thick, and Im naturally straight headed. I'd like to find something that will make my hair a little curly/wavy where it will stay more than 10 minutes. Please help, suggestions will be very appreciated...

    its really hard on such long hair. you have to primp it with styling syrums and stuff to keep it and do a TON of hair spray.
