NBA All-Star first returns....WTF?!?!?

Yi Jianlian (NJ) 356,556
Chris Bosh (Tor) 274,195
Paul Pierce (Bos) 153,512
Shawn Marion (Mia) 144,066
Josh Smith (Atl) 59,574

If Yi Jianlian gets in, this will be a slap in the face to all the NBA fans in world that don't live in China. This is NBA All-Star weekend, not Chinese NBA players weekend. This is coming from a Chinese guy btw.
Feedback?
Yao is the best center in the west, though.

even though yi jianlian isn't better then some of the players whose names are below his the simple fact is that this is what the NBA wants to happen. they want to bring in more money by getting more international attention and more international fans which is why they play exhibition games in china. i mean we still have some time till the all star break so i would be too worried but if he does get in the NBA could come out and say they wont let him play or they would lose fans so maybe they should go to a system where the fans vote counts for 1/3 while the coaches and executive vote's count for the other 2/3. or some kind of system like that because like the guy previously stated the all star Game is really just a popularity contest because Derron Williams is still yet to play in an All star game and no guard in the league can stop Devin Harris right now(he scored 47 on Nash and put up 30+ on Derron Williams) but he not getting the votes he deserves. all star voting had been a problem so maybe if yi does get in it will open up David sterns eyes so he realizes it's time for a change. i am Barack Obama and i approved this message.lol

Chinese people are also fans.
What you guys have to understand is that the all-star votes do not go by who is playing well. I mean, Gilbert Arenas IS IN THERE, and he didn't even play a game this whole season! Shaq made the all-star game a couple of years ago while playing only a game or two.
So yes, don't be surprised if freaking Yi Jianlian is the starting PF for the East. He's a fan favorite, mainly to the Asian crowd.
Devin Harris is playing better than Calderon, Iverson, Carter, Ridnour, practically every guard on that list besides for Wade, and yet he's one of the last.
It doesn't go by who is playing well this season. You can get voted into the all-star game without even playing a single game.
if you look at it from my perspective, the all-star game is just a matter of fun and games. It's basically a game where the best of the NBA get together and have one big game, it's just out there for fun. It means nothing.
With that being said, I understand that the voting isn't always fair. If the fans want to see Arenas play even though he hasn't played all season, or Yi start in the East over Bosh, then let it be. The all-star game ultimately means nothing other than some fun and entertainment over the weekend, and there are plenty of underrated players who deserve to make it, but never do. Making the all-star game really does not determine how good of an NBA player you are.
The great majority of NBA fans are Chinese, and I think it's good that we get a voice in what goes on as well.

Chinese or not. Yao would still lead the all West Centers. He's the best Center in the NBA. He can shoot the jumper, make his free-throws, dominate in the paint, score 20 a game, At least 10 reb. per game, 2 blocks a game, etc...
His only weakness is defense. Dwight's weaknesses are making jump shots, and FT.
Yi is having a good season, but yeah he shouldn't be 3rd on that list. Bosh should be ahead of him.

Lets get one thing straight Yao has deserved to be in the allstar games, He is the best Center in the western conference and many ppl would even take him over dwight howard. Well we all agree Yi doesnt deserve to be in the allstar game but theres nothing to complain about, ppl vote for who they wanna see and thats how it works, If you say chinesse ppl dont have a right to vote thats just wrong. Well we all have to deal with this but dont worry no way yi is gonna beat LeBron and Garnet for allstar votes and NO WAY yi will be put in by coaches.

Same reactions, we cannot do anything .. that's people votes.. lets hope it change and put the deserving player on top of the list.. besides too early to react so much, but yi's lead is hundred thousand..

Yi Jianling is not a bad center but I wouldn't rank him in the top 5 of the east yet. Yao is one of the best but I think Dwight is better.

calm down people. look at the results.
hes almos 300,000 votes from lebron and the only way you get voted in is if you are 1st. hes also almost 150,000 away from kg in the pf position. so he wont get in by the fans and then it will come down to the coaches thinking if he is good enough to be a guy on the bench

listen same thing with yao as long as china votes any chinese player is going to be at the all star game it ******* stupid they should stop the voting bull **** and go by stats and numbers and there 1st half of the season Performance

This is ridiculous to me that people like Yi and Shawn Marion are even being considered. They haven't produced AT ALL this year. wow...
