question about pro bowl voting?
Do you guys believe the fans should be stripped of the pro bowl voting priviledge? Or at least a system be put in place that ensures only one vote per person? As all knows, 11 redskins got voted as starters, when in reality, clinton portis is the only deserving one. No matter what team this occurs for, it is pretty insane, and just shows how important the pro bowl is not. What are your thoughts?

Don't get me started - the current pro bowl system is a joke.
It should be limited to coaches. Period. End of story. Fan favorites are not always the best players, and the media is full of idiots who put bad ideas into fans and players about how good or bad a player actually is. Plus the Redskins campaigning is simply absurd.
12 players (half the team?!?) from a mediocre team voted as starters? 25 players from that same team finishing in the top 5 of fan voting? Please. I'm hoping this makes the NFL realize the ridiculousness of this procedure.
It's a slap in the face to many other deserving players.
Of course, once the coaches and players vote, the number should fall down to 2 or 3 players, but even so, it is ridiculous that the fans gave them such an early edge. Every 12 year old in the DC area probably voted for each of them 1,000 times over.

What are you talking about? There are not 11 Redskins starters...they aren't even announced yet. Just because you lead the fan voting doesn't mean you are a starter..everything will be evened out by the player/coach voting.
From NFL.com:
"The teams will be announced at 4 p.m. ET, Tuesday, Dec. 16 on a special NFL Total Access 2009 NFL Pro Bowl Selection Show on NFL Network."
But, to answer your question, yes, tomething needs to be done about the voting...I am tired of favorites getting in instead of those that deserve it.

antonio cromartie is beating Asomugha in the pro bowl voting. that is just a disgrace. But fans only make 1/3 of the vote. The players and coaches make 2/3 of it.

Why is it a big deal when 11 Redskins get voted in, but 13 Cowboys get voted in, and no one cared?
