That would mean there is no dwarf tossing or midget bowling in Heaven...I find that hard to believe....

First of all you must understand that the mind is a part of the body. It is in no way connected to the soul. As for the mind "handling" the change from retarded to sane? The mind is more inclined to handle the change from living to dead. The soul and the body are two different entities as well. Whatever you feel as a living being..physical or mental, does not carry over to the other side with you. It is very difficult to comprehend that your soul is nothing like your body, but I believe this to be the case.

All those things are to do with the physical form you take. The physical body doesn't go to heaven, it stays behind and rots. Only the soul goes (if you believe in it) and the soul is the same size and mental capacity for everyone. Its also eternal, so has nothing to do with how long its been on earth (ie die a baby or of old age).

Midgets, mature perfect midgets. Heaven is where everyone is accepted and perfect as they are, there are no handicaps or disabilities, but transforming love and acceptance. Retardation and insanity aren't the same thing. What is sick are those with an inability to love, or a constant urge to measure others to unrealistic standards. There is nothing as perfect or centered in love as the most helpless infant. Heaven doesn't measure by the standards of this world. Hell damns all to the limitations of their condition and uneasy and impossible interactions. No one in Heaven needs or wants anything but the perfect love that is there. Hell lacks everything and hates itself and everyone in it.

Heaven and Hell are not places or destinations, but immediate realities

and mindsets within which people live and work. Space and time are meaningless outside of the categories of our perception. God is not bound by our imperfect understanding, neither are we privy to any consciousness besides our own. It is our own choice whether we hope or not, whether we hang on to the old or look to the new, how we decorate our house, accept invitations, share hospitality, where and with whom we belong. We can be dead, and we can live. Personally I choose life.

And what about the 60% of human ova that are fertilized but never implant in the uterine wall? Does that mean that over half of the people in Heaven will be day-old embryos? Eeeeewwwww!

And Michelle T: you're saying that being a midget is an imperfection? Doesn't that make tall people MORE perfect than midgets? Is 5'4" more perfect than 5'0"?

Well that just wouldn't be right if they changed.. they wouldn't be the same person.. take my down's syndrome "godchild" for example, I mean he is an absolutely lovable character just as he is so why change him at all?

And what about short people... you know not quite midgets but small enough to have little man complex like my sister's husband ... I mean, does heaven change their character and demeanre (for sure someone should but that's beside the point)?

Paul has an answer for your question:

    1 Corinthians 15 :33

Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?” You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown [a perishable body, it is raised [m]an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.

Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

i believe menally handicapped people will be sound as in heaven there will be no pain , sickness , evil . And just because their not normal doesn't mean they don't know god . Their is a mentally handicapped man in mi church and he is very close to god even though he can't talk probably and seems to a an understanding of god which others don't

just because their not normal in the normal world doesn't mean they can't be tuned into god in the spirtual world =]

Everything in this temporal world is so compartmentalized--speech, sight, thought are all distinct--not so in Heaven. It is more of a continuum where thought is imparted and can be received as speech or can convey a vision, or both.

Heaven is a spiritual place that is more real and vivid than anything down here. It is difficult to explain.

The concept of heaven is a not very well thought out fantasy, for it to be believable. It's illogical, therefore it doesn't exist.
