i started playing WoW at the begining of this year. my first character i made was a Night Elf Druid.

since then ive made a warlock, paladin, warrior, mage.

i like the Druid because if you go Balance (Caster/DPS) you get what is called Moonkin form which really boost your armor, and you have the ablilty to heal as well.

however its going to come down to your playing style and what you like to do.

do you like to stand back and tear enemies up with spells, do you like to get in their face, do you like to send a pet or minion after them, do you like to sneak up on them.

the great thing about WoW is that you can find a style for anyone and im sure you will.

I don't know much about the Alliance side of Wow, I play Horde.

My first toon was a blood-elf hunter, pretty simple & easy for a beginner. You'll get your first pet @ level 10 (unless this has changed with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion) and that will make your in-game life much better.

I also have a Tauren Druid (my favorite class and race so far, I'm currently leveling her), and an Undead Mage.

Not to mention they've made leveling and gaining experience so much easier & quicker with the new updates & expansion.

Good luck & enjoy WoW! It's truly an addicting game! :)

(BTW I added some helpful WoW sites in the sources area down there vvv)

Every race and class is a little bit different. As far as race goes, I'd pick the one I'm interested in looking at for a long time, cause you will be. As far as class goes, my only advice is to pick one that fits your play style. Read the descriptions carefully and try to learn the class that you think fits you best. Any class can be fun and useful if played well. Have fun.

Well race is almost irrelevant besides that some races only have certain class, but hunters are way overpowered right now so there easy, i like my warrior but its all a personal choice, what you like doing more. Healing class would be the only hard ones to start with, with no experience.

the normal beginner class is hunter. it doesn't take much thought, just put on autoshoot. also, you will be able to do lots of quests since you will have a pet to help.

another suggestion is paladin. because of their armor, they are tough to kill by mobs, and then being able to heal yourself helps as well.

for class, I suggest human or dwarf. easy to get to major cities and plenty of other players around. night elf is a normal beginner race, but they are located out in the boonies.

Pick a few classes you think you'll like and level them to ten... But some good classes for beginners are Paladins (never die) Hunters (easy to play)

With you being new why don't you just try out a few of them and see what you like best. Nothing wrong with experimenting. I like warlocks just because of all the different pets you get along the way, plus it's nice to have someone get beat up instead of you.

Hunter's are the easiest class to start out with, in my opinion. Any race will work.
