Oh, I know what you mean. I have a couple of cool items from a hundred or so years ago and it's fun to get people to try to figure out what they are. Cool question, (but not astronomy). I'll give it some thought and come back.

    Cigarette lighters.

    Floppy disks.

    Vacuum tubes.

    Slide rules.

    Rotary phone dials.

    Phonographs and vinyl records.

    Cassette tapes.

  • Double Sided Tape, The Magic Bullet, Kraft Dinner, there are allot of products that would confuse them.

The gasoline engine. People will be amazed that we polluted the Earth, almost destroying it when there was a much simpler way of meeting all of our energy needs.

    28.8 kbps modems

I gave one to my daughter (8, she loves computers) and told her to keep it safe until she was older then she could turn back and laugh at how miserably slow data transfer was.

I'm sure in her future, bandwidth will be "astronomically" fast

(its so cute watching her take care of it. it seems to mean a lot to her)

oh and genetically altered animals that glow in the dark
