You would be eligible for a monthly benefit and Medicare from your spouse's work record.

When you reach retirement age, you can collect ss based on your spouse or former spouse's record. You'll be eligible for mediCARE at age 65.

MedicAID is a separate program. You would have to qualify separately for that if you are below the age to be eligible for mediCARE. It's basically a medical welfare program.

You draw spousal benefits of 50% of your husband's benefit and, if he dies, all of his. You will qualify for Medicare on his account.

If you have worked for 10 years (40 credits) you will qualify for something on your own.
