I am trying to find a cheap way to ship presents via sea cargo from New York City to Auckland New Zealand. I checked DHL but the rate works out to about 75 USD per pound. I would prefer to pay a cheaper rate even if it takes longer to get there. Does anyone know of a sea cargo shipper or logistics company that provides cheaper rates?

I got a ticket for 50 mph in a 35 mph. The officer reduced the ticket from 55 mph to 50 mph and advised me to plead not guilty and show up in court. He said he would be there and get me something different than what was on the ticket. He asked me if I had a clean driving record. I said it was pretty solid. I did have a traffic violation for turning left out of a garage that had a sign a few months back. This was in the same county ( Westchester NY). I wanted to know if there is anything I could due to get the ticket reduced.

I was thinking about the Term Auction Facility where the Fed is lending to various institutions. The institutions can use junk securities as collateral. If everyone is trying to blame the high commodities prices on speculation, where is this money coming from such that these institutions can buy to begin with? I have an idea that it might just be the money the Federal Reserve is lending out. Does any else think the Federal Reserve is the cause of this commodity bubble we are seeing?

It seems like every year the government gets bigger and bigger and spends more money than it has. In my lifetime, I have not seen the size of the government ever shrink. Do you think the size of the government will ever shrink in the next 20 years?
