Favorite japanese or korean dramas/ movies?

alright, so i have already watched hana yori dango, one litre of tears, (loved both of these) attention please (not so much), proposal Daisakusen, gokusen, hana kimi, taiyou no uta, first love, Kimi wa Petto, last friends, Ryusei no Kizuna, and we got married, why why love, and it started with a kiss 1 and 2 and i believe that is it.

yes, i realize that i am obsessed but i have run out of things to watch. i want something that has romance but not over the top, mushy and annoying. and something that has a really good story line.

Please help:P

Okay, I know this might be a long so I hope you have patience to go through it all, >_<

These are the BEST dramas I have EVER watched, and I know it's a pretty short number (with long descriptions), but I assure you, you will love them all!

    (1) Nodame Cantabile (JAPANESE)

A great romantic comedy, with the PERFECT mix of friendship, slice of life, HUMOUR and, of course, romance. It's also rather inspirational and may cause you to want to start playing musical instruments... or if not that, it will make you appreciate classical music. To really give a good description, I would say that it has the humour and friendship of Hana Kimi (fast-paced, silly, LOL humour), with the (really good) acting of Hana Yori Dango, along with a unique love story, that YOU will fall in love with. Basically, a silly, childlike girl falls in love with the greatest musician on their college campus (they happen to be neighbors) and she goes after him. Although annoyed/scared to death by her, he begins to learn lessons from her (without her knowledge) and begins to appreciate the music of others more). She, on the other hand, begins to explore the music world of concerts and professional playing rather than becoming a music teacher. A MUST WATCH!!!!!!!

    (2) Couple Or Trouble (KOREAN)

HILARIOUS!!!!! OMG! It might seem a little weird at first, but it gets a LOT better. The female protaganist is an... anti-heroine? She's rude, feisty, spoiled and is a VERY picky individual. She gets easily angry at the littlest imperfections and is never satisfied with anything. Her husband is unable to say anything to her, coward that he is. However, one day, she loses her memory and goes under the care of this other guy. Retaining her bad personality, the guy (who has a hot temper) begins to change the girl, or rather, to open the cold heart that no one before could open... Gah... that was a bad description, but BELIEVE ME. It is a REALLY GOOD DRAMA!

    (3) Get Karl! Oh Soo Jung (KOREAN)

Similar to Couple or Trouble in that there is the whole "anti-heroine" concept here as well. (The guy actor, Oh Ji Ho also acts in both =P) In contrast to Couple or Trouble, though, the girl is a rather poor person, largely due to her father's spending problem (he buys unnecessarily expensive things~)... What makes her despicable is mainly her actions... It's hard to summarize this because it is SUCH a unique plot.. I can only highly suggest it to you. It's really a great drama. I have no doubt that you will feel, as I felt, in the beginning that the actress is SUCH a hateful person, but believe me, as you watch the series, you will begin to go "Ohhhhhh... THAT'S why she's like that.. or did this... " and then you begin to understand the actress's character and blah. It's a really good drama!

    (4) Prince Turns To Frog (TAIWANESE)

The only T-drama that I truly enjoyed watching, mainly because of its uniqueness. (I get attracted to ROMCOMs with unique plots, that are interesting, while remaining funny and cute =D) Anyway, this drama has a LOT to do with amnesia. This is kind of similar to Couple Or Trouble, except it's sorta switched. There is this rich guy, who is a pretty cold person. One day, he loses his memory and comes under the care of the girl. He comes from the city and ends up with the girl in a village... Well, he falls in love with her (duh) but the thing is... he's left a fiancee behind, his parents are grieving greatly for him, and his company (well, hotel franchise, really) is not coming along well as another guy tries to usurp his authority. Stuff and junk happens and BOOM. He gets his memory back.... Well, I can't say what happens after that, but it is a pretty good drama for T-drama standards.

For this drama, you can only watch it on youtube... Look for "mingdaoqiaoenforever" or something and it'll come up.

Well, those are the best I've ever watched.

The other ones that are nyah, mediocre, but not quite THE best, are:

    -Goong

    -My Girl

    -Sweet 18

    -Que Sera, Sera

    -18 vs 29

As for MOVIES... I've watched a TON of Korean movies =D

-Innocent Steps (Loved this one the BEST! Cute, and ends beautifully)

-My Little Bride (Hehe, this one's cute and funny)

-Oh! Happy Day! (Love Jang Na Ra! That girl can act! Girl-chase-boy flick)

-2 Faces of My Girlfriend (Abusive Girl/Nice Girl VS Nice Guy... the girl has multiple personalities and the guy suffers.. cute, and the ending was okay, but could have been better)

-Perfect Couple (HAHA! Loved this one! The guy and girl "despise" the other and make fun of each other left-and-right. VERY cute and funny, but I'm still sad that they're still at the banter stage at the end, LOL... you'll see what I mean... the ending was okay, but again, could've been better)

-He Was Cool (Eh... this was okay... Got a little "gangsta" in between and all, but overall cute... Can't believe the actress committed suicide in real life!!! =O)

-My Tutor Friend I and II (The second one was better... first one had Kwon Sa

Source(s): *continued* -My Tutor Friend I and II (The second one was better... first one had Kwon Sang Woo <kya!> but the movie content wasn't as cute and good as the second one) -Too Beautiful To Lie ("Abusive Girl" VS Nice Guy, again.. except the nice guy suffers from her absurd lies, LOL... it's pretty cute, and I LOVED the ending! It was a little corny but it was still cute!) -My Boyfriend is Type B (-_- This was OKAY, but I still can't get over seeing Lee Dong Gun as a REALLY bad boyfriend... especially after Sweet 18, where he was a responsible husband. LOL But, it's a good movie, though..) The Classic (This was nice, but a little on the sad side... Actually, it had both. It had two parallel stories, where the daughter reads the journal + letters of the mother and we see scenes of the past with the mother and then when we come to the present, the daughter has her own "romance" going on and well... the end is VERY sweet, but I did cry, though... Really touching, I liked it second best to Innocent Steps) -Please Teach Me English (HILARIOUS! I LOVED IT! The actress is AMAZING! BUT... I must warn you... the guy is a little... bleh. He's not that great-looking, but this still such a cute movie! It has a lot to do with learning English which was a nice change from other movies. -Spring Bears Love (UM... IDK what to say... this was a really random, weird, cute movie. I mean, I geuss it's ROMCOM but... IDK.. It also had a slightly creepy melancholy feel to it, but in a happy way... IDK.. If you watch it, you'll get what I mean. It had a cute ending, but we never get to see some, ah, action.... >.>) ON MY "TO-SEE" MOVIES LIST: A Daughter-In-Law Story My Mighty Princess I actually found trailers of these on youtube, which also has a LOT of K-movies... So, if anything, you can always go search for asian dramas and some users have put up a list of their favorite dramas and then, you can check them out ^_^ Happy watching!

If you are tired of love stories and comedies, then how about mind games? Here are good ones. "Liar game" and "Kurosagi." Though their plots are a bit complex, they are really enjoyable. I'm not a native speaker of Japanese, and couldn't fully understand the whole stories, but I liked them very much. I think Japanese are surprisingly good at making this kind of dramas, and you must try them.

id say you're missing the classic japanese love drama; LONG VACATION

    starring kimutaku from smap.

    a couple others that aren't romance but are still good are;

    maou(best suspence drama)

yankee boukou ni kaeru ( like gokusen but more serious)

    brother beat ( family/love story)

taiyo to umi no kyoshitsu (comedy but meaningful)

nodame cantabile ( this is a romance comedy)

    &

zettai kareshi ( i've heard this is a good romance but i havn't seen it yet)

just ask if you want more, im sure i'll be able to think of them later :]
