    There are no Jewish Roots to Christianity, because the theology that supports it is antithetical to what the Bible says, and is diametrically opposite of what Judaism believes.

    Christian missionaries, and this includes the "Jews" For Jesus, the Messianic "Jews," and the "Hebrew" Christians, will go to any length to get even one real Jew to convert. They will take anything that is Jewish and put into it Christian symbolism. Then they will claim that, since they can now find Christian symbolism in it, that it proves that Christianity developed from it, that it was the source of Christian theology, and that the Jews are too stupid to see how Christian theology is what Gd wanted them to see in it, in the first place.

    However, this can be done with anything that is not Jewish as well!

    One could do the same thing with pizza. Pizza has three basic elements to it, the bread, the tomato sauce, and the cheese. The middle element is the tomato sauce, which is red.

    One could easily give a Christian interpretation to these three elements that define pizza:

    The three basic ingredients of pizza represent the Christian trinity of the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit.

    The bread: Jesus is called the bread of life. The dough is kneaded. This image of kneading the dough is the same as someone being beaten which could represent Jesus being scourged. The dough to make the bread is rolled over with an instrument, which pokes holes in the dough to remove any air before baking. This could be likened to Jesus receiving the holes in his body from the crucifixion, just like they say of the matzah.

    The tomato sauce: The sauce is red like Jesus's blood, and it is spread all around the dough like the blood of a sacrifice is put on an altar.

    The cheese: The cheese covers the rest, like the death of Jesus covers the sins of the people.

    From what you have read above, you can easily see how anything, even pizza, can be used to symbolize Jesus. But does that mean that the symbolism found in pizza indicates The Pizza Roots of Christianity?

    It really doesn't. Only the Gospel of John has Jesus crucified on the day before Passover. When the lambs were sacrificed in the Temple. John is also the only Gospel to use the imagery "Lamb of God".

    The three synoptic Gospels all have Jesus partaking of the Passover meal.

    Most scholars think John changed the day of crucifixion to fit the narrative point of Jesus as "Lamb".

    I am happy and excited for you! Jesus is the Lord, Jesus is the Messiah who came and died on that cross for the forgiveness of our sins and our eternal salvation. It is hard for Jewish people to accept that the prophecy of the messiah returning was fulfilled becuase they were expecting a great, rich, king who would come in glory and power to save them. When Jesus came he came in the humblest form because he did not want to people to follow him for what he had, even though he was the Lord Almighty, he wanted the people to know him as their redemeer and friend. Jesus came to stop all the laws and traditions that were hindering people from believeing in Him. He came to put an end to the way of the Pharisees because they spent their time memorizing, following traditions and putting heavy burdens on the people, but they did not know how to love each other and the Lord's people. All the pharisees did was place heavy burdens on the people that they themselves did not even do. That is why the Lord called them "Viper" (in the book of Matthew). The Lord also said that they should "remove the mote from their own eyes before asking someone else to do it!" Jesus is the way to heaven, and he is coming soon! Jesus said that "He is the way the truth and the Life" I will continue to pray for you and if you continue to believe and be strong God will sustain you in everything you do. The Bible say "I can do all things through Jesus Christ that strengthens me"

    The lamb is an innocent animal and the Jewish people would pray and ask God to place all their sins on that Lamb according to God's law that He gave to Moses. Then the people would kill the Lamb and be free from sin as the Lamb died carrying their sins.

    Jesus was God's passover Lamb. God sent him to take our sins upon himself, but only those who accept this are those who are forgiven their sins. This was the last blood sacrifice for sins and the beginning of the new covenant that God promised. That is why God had His temple destroyed in 70AD because there was no more need for sacrifice. Jesus was the final passover Lamb and the promised Messiah.

    Peace be with you,

    The Pascal (Passover) lamb was slain that the children of Israel would not die physically.

    In like manner, Christ was slain slain so that the children of spiritual Israel would not die eternally.

    Of course, we could go into the horns of the altar and the cross in the Old Testament and so forth yet this ought to be a satisfactory simple answer for now.

    For more information, please consult the Holy Bible, especially Hebrews, and the Church Fathers, especially St. Justin Martyr.

    ~~~
    P.S. At the time of Christ, some Jews observed the Passover on the 14th of Nisan and some on the 15th. Hence, Christ observed it with His disciples the night before He died which was the day the lamb (and the Lamb) was slain.
    The Books of Moses say to observe the 14th but today all those called Jews observe the 15th.
    ~~~

    2nd P.S. Orthodox Christians refer to Easter as "Pascha" or "Passover". We never celebrate before those called Jews have celebrated their Pascha either.

    The Passover Lamb saved Israel from the last plague, death. Jesus was called the Lamb of God by John the Baptist (who takes away the sin of the world). The Jewish people do the sacrifice to remember how God saved their lives through the lamb being slain...Christians remember Jesus as the lamb because He saved their eternal lives by being slain. There are similarities in the two..also Jesus was sacrificed at Passover, most historical things that have happened throughout history have happened during some sort of Hebraic Festival...it's actually very interesting.

    It began with Exodus 12 when God told them to put the blood of a lamb over the doorposts and lentils so that the death angel would pass over them

    Egypt represents the world and is what we are delivered form when we get saved by the blood of the Lamb

    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=exodus...

    John 1:29The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

    Revelation 13:8 "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

    it doesn't whatsoever.

    in most of christianity Jesus is seen as a sacrifice for sin.

    in Judaism(Passover) the Passover Lamb has NOTHING to do with sin or forgiveness or repentance whatsoever.

    no, not even a little.

    the assertion that jesus is the passover lamb is absolutely nonsensical.

    It doesn't.

    The Paschal lamb was never a sin sacrifice.

    It was a slaughter of the Egyptian god - and thanksgiving for the Passover.

    It was never and has never had anything to do with redemption of sin.

    According to Christianity that was the entire purpose of Jesus' death, so there is absolutely no correlation whatsoever.

    Er, excuse me?

    There's no debate here. Passover is a JEWISH custom. It has NOTHING to do with Jesus - and nothing to do with XIANITY.

    You don't get to rock up and REwrite OUR customs. We've celebrated Pesach (the PROPER name) for 3500 years. Jesus has never been part of it and he WILL NEVER be part of it.
