outlook express question?
I have just had to redo my XP windows I have done every available
update & almost everything is running well except a minor glitch in outlook express.When I open to write new mail,the spellchecker is greyed out & I have looked everywhere to try & fix it with no success.Can anyone shed any light on this or how to fix it please.Another thing that doesn't appear to be functioning properly is my screen saver,it just does not come on.I have an HP Media Centre which is only 2yrs old.Any help would be much appreciated,thanks in advance.

outlook express uses the spell checker in Microsoft office if it's greyed out then the chances are you don't have Microsoft office installed
did you have it installed before if so reinstall it and outlook spell checker will work again

Yes you have to have Word or Office installed, because the spell checker in OE uses the spell checker from either of those programs.
If you don't want to go through the hassle of installing them, there are several free independent spell checkers on the Internet and they all work in OE.

Outlook Express does not have a spell checker.
It gets one once you install MS Word or MS Works.
