AVCHD HD Footage onto DVD Disc Help?

I've got a Sony HDR-SR11E Handycam and was wondering if there was anyway that I could burn the footage (that is in High-Def) to DVD, able to be played back by a DVD player (and also a DVD player capable of 1080p upscaling). Is this possible? If so, how? Or is it only possible to downgrade the footage to Standard-Def so it can be played on a regulard DVD player?

    i got the same problem dude, let's see if some angel answers it.

    apparently I find best solution in sony direct DVD burner from HD handycam so that DVD can play 1080p resolution video.

    will cost more than a hundred bucks.
