Should MMA have a seperate category in here?
It seems that this section is divided up between MMA questions and questions about traditional styles of true martial arts. Personally, I look through this section in hopes of gaining knowledge about Karate,TKD, etc., but always find pages of questions concerning opinions on which UFC fighter will win against whom, who is their favorite fighter, and such. I suppose it doesn't matter that much, but it would speed things up for everyone if Yahell made a change.

I've already suggested this in Yahoo forums, and emailed yahoo but no real reply from Yahoo's staff yet on it.
I made a proposal for "sub-catagories" which looked like this:
home>sports>martial arts>aikido
home>sports>martial arts>mainland karate
home>sports>martial arts>okinawan karate
home>sports>martial arts>karate (other)
home>sports>martial arts>brazilian jiu-jitsu
home>sports>martial arts>japanese jujitsu
home>sports>martial arts>judo
home>sports>martial arts>tae kwon do
home>sports>martial arts>muay thai
home>sports>martial arts>american kickboxing
home>sports>martial arts>krav maga
home>sports>martial arts>kung fu
home>sports>martial arts>japanese weapons
home>sports>martial arts>chinese weapons
but still no word, I think they don't want to take the whole 20 minutes max it would take to set these "sub-catagories" up man.
As far as ninjitsu, savat and those other "non-common" arts go though ti**y said the kitty when the milk ran try.
As far as the "Mixed Martial Arts" go it doesn't need it's own "sub-catagory" because it's practitioners borrow techniques from the arts I've already listed above and their called "Skill Sets" in MMA. Boxing and Wrestling already have their own "catagories" in Yahoo Answers which are two other art forms that Mixed Martial Artists get other key parts of their "Skill Sets" from so no need for a MMA "sub-catagory" in Y/A ever.

I think that maybe televised MA or MMA events should have their own section. For example, maybe a Martial Arts > TV Shows. It would get all of the UFC and other MMA tv show stuff out of the way of people who want to learn about a martial art, not toss around who they think is going ot win the next UFC.
I also think they should make separate sections for the martial arts that are talked about a lot like BJJ, Muay Thai, etc. They can have an other section for all the rest.

I don't know about all those designations William suggested, but I would certainly agree that the MMA stuff be separated from martial arts. It is a good sport, and those guys are definitely tough. So I think they deserve a category as much as martial artists do. I'm not even so sure that martial art should go under sports. Arts and humanities also seems a good fit, as would fitness and health. To be honest, it quite is decrease than the "activities" area. So technically it quite is for try against activities, inclusive of MMA. So the extra advantageous question is might desire to Yahoo solutions upload a prevalent martial arts area? the respond remains no, there are in basic terms some authentic traditionalists accessible and infrequently anybody at this is fascinated in them. each and every thing is approximately MMA in any case. there is already a boxing area, so i think of it is positive.

If Yahoo was really smart they should make categories like they have for many other areas that are generalized. This way the questions are more topic oriented which makes it hard for trolls and people can read areas they are more interested in.

I dont think they should cause lots of MMA guys can answer questions on traditional arts because a lot of them have a backround in traditional arts and traditonal guys can answer MMA questions as well so I think it's fine how it is.
