connect tv to laptop?

i connected tv to a laptop but it appears in b/w and the picture is not very clear . i ve used a male to male s-vid connection . please help .

    switch the channel to s-video not av, some tvs allow you to switch between the two on an av channel.

    The picture won't be clear - its an S-Video connection. You can't get a good resolution over it.

    As for the black and white - you probably need to make sure the TV is expecting RGB input/

    I use an S-Video connection on my 32" tv and its perfect quality, so the connection type is fine. The cable may be faulty though, it only takes one pin to break for it to lose colour. Try another cable or test that one on something else.

    You will need a VGA cable or DVI form thre graphics to HDMI. Only moder TV's give you this capability.
